I noticed that your book have sharp corners instead of rounded corners. Can amazon print picture books with rounded corners for safety? Specially if you want a hardcover.

I definitely go through 'the dip'! People keep telling me that my story is too long for a picture book, and while I have tried to shorten it, I can't remove too much, otherwise it wouldn't make sense. Should I still go for it and self publish it? Especially as I'm over half way through the pictures.. I'm terrified of promoting it and hate putting myself out there, as I'm autistic and so socially awkward, but if I want to make a career out of it, I guess I have to do it. How do you add the text to it? My drawings are all done on the sketchbook app but it doesn't have many fonts and it's just really difficult to use.. Love your art and especially how it looks hand coloured in like the Raymond brings books! :P

My local library's maximum is 50. The amount of inspiration I get from books is never-ending. I love the library; it's so underrated, but I may be biased since I worked at a library for almost 10 years. Give your local library some love!

Thank you for sharing your story! I self-published a children's book a couple years ago and it was a fantastic learning process. It was hard work and there were lots of little fees that added up. I still want to do it again, though:) It's encouraging to see other artists/authors getting out there and being creative because it's important not only for the world but also for the artist I think.

Congrats with the book feature Emma! So cool that you are next to Frannerd, She has also been a big fav of mine too, and one of the reasons I started a youtube channel :) The story I am writing at the moment is for a chapter book so I have been doing a lot of reading. A lot of them use black, white and then one other colour, like a pink or an orange. And sometimes they use it like a block colour and other times like with lots of shades. So that could also be something to look at for the portfolio!

I love your plan to alternate between book illustration and editorial illustration. It sounds like a great way to build your portfolio👍
