Offshoring, similar to what we are seeing today, is the first real indicator of near term automation. If the work task can be off shored, it can be automated.

Another great podcast guys, both you guys' have great info and real a.i. knowledge. Love hearing about the Chatgpt CEO, I can't wait to see the CEO in action. Also Marc Benioff of sales force recently gave an interview, where he said he doesn't plan on hiring any software engineers in 2025 because a.i has made his current engineers 30% more productive.

No. Good writers do not become great writers. They become lazy writers. They become uncreative writers. Some might learn from ChatGPT and models like it, and the grammar might get better. But all the heavy lifting is gonna be done by the machine. I’m not saying this is bad, but it needs redefining. If A.I. writes cursive for me, it doesn’t mean I have an elegant hand. If it writes for me, it isn’t my muse. It becomes a tool, and the result lies in my ability to prompt and recognize a good outcome. But I didn’t do the bulk of the creative work.

If this is the definition of AGI, then I think it is achievable in the next 8-10 years. But that is still a rather shallow definition of AGI. Instead I prefer Yann Lecun's view of AGI. An AGI should have a proper understanding of the physical world. A world model. Today's LLMs don't have that, and the current architecture with the scaling law will likely not get us there. However, what Lecun and people like Li Fei Fei are working on might take us one step closer, if they succeed. But i think that will take a lot more time and will need another breakthrough in architecture and fundamental technologies.

Machines will be able to simulate empathy and compassion, true, but that does not mean they will ever be able to truly connect with us. Cause synthesised connection is actually fake connection. It doesn't truly nurture the deep human needs to be seen and recognised in our worth. Which is one of the deep reasons why people do business together. Not to produce more, achieve more... but to connect with deeper truths and aspects of ourselves. Real connection comes from love and love can't be faked by a program. Just like a s*x doll or porn will never be able to compare with a true, deep intimate relationship with a human partner. We are going to witness a society where many will confuse "true intelligence", which comes from our beingness and connection to divinity, and "smartness" which is the ability to do/ learn/ perform in order to accomplish a result. Those who can't yet distinguish between the two will be going through immense amount of suffering and eventually wake up to truth.

It's a great podcast, as always. Next week, will you discuss what came out today? Sam Altman, I hope you have the knee pads ready to knell before Elon and beg for forgiveness. 😆

Great podcast! I am one of the people creating the AI powered workflow automations for one of the big companies that you mentioned in the podcast. I can confirm that we have yet to build a baseline level of infrastructure using the models that already exist. Give it a year and we will have built out enough of the infrastructure to automate hundreds of SOPs.

Listened to the Sam Altman interview. I hope he writes that book, I'd be fascinated to read that! Maybe he should have AI help him get it done lol. Off to listen to the Mustafa Suleyman next. In relation to ChatGPT search.. I've been testing it out too and was interested to read this back from a search I was conducting: "If these suggestions don't match the site you're recalling, you might consider using your browser's history search function. For instance, Google Chrome has introduced an AI-powered history search feature that allows you to search your browsing history using natural language queries..." It also suggested Co pilot search, both of these were pulled from articles on the web, rather than ChatGPT necessarily making the suggestions itself.

It seems like you guys are still struggling a bit over the difference between a workflow that companies are now calling agents and what the future of agents would look like. Let me see if I can help with that. Say you have a process where people email a specific mailbox at your company that contains a pdf of some form they filled out and you have a process that monitors that mailbox and pulls out the attachment and processes it. Once done it notifies some user(s) that a new form has been processed. That's a traditional workflow. If it was an agent, here's some things that I could see changing with this process. Someone uploads an older version of the form that you're no longer processing or just some random attachment. The agent would reach out to the sender and notify them what is wrong with their submission. Or, if something changed downstream with the process, say a developer made a change and it impacted the process. The agent would notify someone that the process is broke and it's unable to process any requests. Here's another way to look at it. Say you have a process that requires 5 steps to get it done and when it gets to step 3, it could go one of two different ways. A workflow would just break because it doesn't have a 100% path forward. An agent would go back to the sender with additional questions so it would then know which path to take to get the the proper 5th step and the result the sender was looking for. I hope this helps.

"reskilling the workforce"? You're joking right? Okay, say it takes 2 years to upskill someone to 'that' day's current standard (which would be super fast btw). In two years, there'll be an AI that could do that 'job' faster than the human. I'm shocked you propose such a thing. Look, other than safety, there's only 1 main priority: developing and implementing a new economic system that will keep most people off of the street. Anything other than that is naïve to the extreme. I respect you two, but come on. Reskilling? Look up exponential growth (the rate at which ai is improving) and compare that growth to the rate at which a human can acquire new skills and keep up with 'reskilling'. Hold those two graphs up side by side and if you still think this current economic system makes sense with those graphs in front of you then....WOW, you are in the box man.

everything in tech is a wrapper. Salesforce is a wrapper on a db, nvidia is also a wrapper and so on. Its a old concept. Same with Chatgpt models - early adopters tech know which models to use..IYKYK - its not like google search where it decides which query will be served by which data server.

Saying that even if AI perfectly simulates consciousness there will not be consciousness is extremely dogmatic. The simulation would be the substrate of consciousness, just like neural activity and chemical reactions arent loving, but are the substrate of love.
