Good video and adventure. As pointed out by some others. Don't ever kick the fish, its not funny, decent or respectful. Respect all nature. Handle the fish more gentle. And use a towel rather then putting them on rocks. We need to respect all nature, people will judge us anglers by our mistakes. Also less swearing and bad language pls. Apart from that, good fishing!

Thought there was a ban on fishing for snapper and didn’t you step over a no fishing sign at the inlet?
@LeoHutch5 ай бұрын
Look at the ban mate do some research on it first and can’t help to catch them but I released everything I caught and yes I stepped over a no fishing sign in the inlet
@gregbutler88415 ай бұрын
@@LeoHutch I did do some research first which is why I was trying to be subtle bringing it to your attention. The current closure in and around where you were is as follows: "The West Coast, Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent/Kangaroo Island Fishing Zones are closed to Snapper fishing until 30 June 2026. Catch and release fishing is strictly prohibited in closed areas." So not sure what further research you are talking about. Continuing to use the same rig with the same bait and the same technique in the same spot could be construed as targeting that fish. Look mate, you are a young bloke and I am wrapped you have an interest in fishing. More power to you and I hope you bag out every time you venture out, I'd even go with you. But have some respect for the regulations so we can all benefit later. Also, I was trying to vaguely suggest that putting a video up on youtube showing you practicing catch and release fishing of snapper in a banned area is probably not the brightest idea mate, hey, but you do you ok.
@adamperre48524 ай бұрын
U can't help catch a fish that is restricted are u serious a fish doesn't know if it's targeted or not and a fisherman that is just fishing for fun doesn't mean he is targeting that prohibited fish it happens all the time u just handle the fish with care and release it not hard he is doing no harm to u or anyone @@gregbutler8841
@mikewesty28645 ай бұрын
Hey man, pretty fucked off to be honest. My first reaction was to loose it at you but that doesn't get anyone anywhere. On a more constructive note, please try and put in the effort to handle fish better, don't use your fuckin foot incase they spike you, use a small towel and whole hand and pull it into your hand in an upward motion. You'll be holding the head and fore-body and spikes will be facing backward. 👍🏼 Also don't kick em mate, or grab em tight or anything stupid. You're probably thinking there's hundreds of the pricks who cares. Well you'd be right about the number of em, but they're there for a reason and if your enjoying fishing then you should start treating the sport like it's about to be taken away from you. Respect it, respect that you have such a good fishery at your disposal, seriously man, you seem pretty young and good on ya for enjoying it with your mates but you've made your self public now and the public have seen how you treat fish.... no it's not a threat or anything fucking ridiculous, at least not from me... I just think it's in everyone's interests if we respect and look after the things we enjoy. All the best man 🙌🏼
@LeoHutch5 ай бұрын
I understand mate I should be more considerate with the fish and everyone around me and the public I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again the next upcoming videos will be better for that reason I want to put positive influence to the community as I do enjoy fishing and making content for myself and others appreciate the comment and I understand why your not happy with me for it. 🤜🤛

You have the opportunity too make really good quality vids to a world audience. You have equipment, talent and vision but I suggest you edit better and cut out the bad language. A lot of people don’t like bad language. I use it but only around people I know who aren’t offended. Just courtesy. Also I suggest you treat the fish you catch with respect, even if they are trumpeters, toadies or whatever. Don’t kick them or mistreat them. Catch and release as soon as possible. Remember that these fish out of water are suffocating, like if you being held under water. They’re suffering. Just let them go and people will appreciate the respect and compassion you have for other creatures. Lot of fisherman are making good money out of fishing videos. Adelaide has a lot of top spots to fish, but you’re rigging for small stuff. Try rigging size nines and bigger. Chase after particular species. I can hear that your reel needs stripping and lubrication. If you don’t strip and lubricate it regularly it will not perform well. Buy some special reel grease. Yep, they make special grease for fishing reels. Comes in a little pot or tube. Plenty of vids on internet about how to strip and service fishing reels and you might have to buy some smaller tools if you haven’t got some. Teaches you how stuff works and to be able to maintain your own gear and help people who aren’t as mechanically savvy. Buy or make a couple of different types of rod holders for different circumstances, beach, jetty, rocks, platform. Get some plans off the internet. Keeps your gear off the ground and helps prevent grit and dirt getting into the mechanisms and also holds tools, rigs, and bait you need to hand. Also have a rag or two handy. Helps restrain the fish and something to wipe your hands on after baiting up, stops fish spines digging into your hands and just to wipe down your rod and gear, even though all gear should be cleaned and checked and maintained on a regular basis. As kids in the 1960s and 70s because we couldn’t afford new stuff we used to make it or buy second or even third hand reels and gear from auctions and junk shops. Used to make rods from bamboo get some old guides from broken rods, and bind them to the bamboo and then varnish the lot. Held the reel in with a couple of hose clamps. Used to catch some big fish, big bream and mulloway off the rocks near the silos with worms pumped with a bait pump out of the little beach there. Sometimes had trouble trying to get them home on the push bikes balancing them with all the gear. Used to be an hours ride home but it help feed the family. Fishing wasn’t just for fun.

Excellent advise mate very appreciated, I’m on my way to making more sufficient and better content I’ve been looking through my content and have noticing the bad language and needs to stop and be cut out of the video I’ll get some stuff for my gear to make sure it’s in good condition And great work for the home made bamboo rods, it’s incredible to be honest that you managed that and I mainly fish for fun but getting good feeds out of it and good content is always the way I’ll take more car and consideration with the fish and fishing community more Thank you for the long comment and helpful advise

@@LeoHutch Hey mate, I came from your most recent video you and your mates camping. Watched a few more and then got to this one . Like others said not on kicking the fish I would of actually stopped watching, but from how you have been replying you seem like you have your head screwed on and are a genuine person who cares. Like I mentioned above I actually came from recent videos and your pulling line out of water and burning it or getting rid of your rubbish, so was a bit surprised when you were kicking them. Just keep up the good videos without the shit. I used to have my foot on the fish as well to hold them especially crazy little bream but I realised it wasn't a good look and not good for the fish. Best way ive found is let them spaz out for a sec and then fold their top spikes down back towards their tail and then just hold them down with one hand, other hand just hold them on the under of the head. I could not give a fuck about the swearing either, but all the effort you put into making videos you may as well not and It will be shown to more people, you will be able to convert those extra viewers you are getting into subscribers. I'm sure you understand that camping / fishing scene in aus is HEAVILY saturated no matter how passionate you are, you have to be catching fish or have another way to engage the audience like (Luke Falzone) or whatever his name is.
