Today I went out a lake and it was raining on us, after 20 minutes I caught a bass on the frog and I missed 4 of them! I set the hook very hard Quick question do you think we will able to catch bass on top water lure on hot days?
@MNFishingGuide6 ай бұрын
Yeah. Air temp doesn’t matter as much as light cond

conditions. Once water temps are in the 70s cloudy days are better than sunny ones generally. Otherwise early in the morning before the sun gets too high.

Sadly, the jumbos are getting more and more rare in Big stone. 10"s are about as big as they get now, as people keep everything. It's good to see fathers and sons fishing,,, making good memories!

When is the best time to fish for musky Konnor
@daleearnhardtfan38892 жыл бұрын
What’s your favorite Luer or Luers to use for musky and your dad caught 2 nice Bass
@MNFishingGuide2 жыл бұрын
On pressured metro lakes I like to use one ounce safety-pin style bucktail spinnerbaits. They work over and through weeds well and the smaller size seems to trigger more strikes instead of follows from fish who have seen and followed a lot of big musky baits by the time July rolls around. They also catch pike and bigger bass. Even popped a few nice walleyes on them along weed edges.

Yeah I sold that in September 2019. Running a 2021 1875 Impact Sport for the second season right now. That is for sale, available in September. Ad on Craigslist and on Facebook (Great Day on the Water Guide Service) or I can email the ad to you as well if you are interested. Video tour of this boat is in the Equipment Reviews playlist on my KZbin channel.

You can go to wingitfishing.com or Amazon carries them and I have bought them at Fleet Farm and Scheels. Three sizes-I use the small for panfish and the medium and large for walleyes depending on wind and water depth/jig weight.

Can you please tell me what lure / jig weights your ultra light model is best suited for?
@MNFishingGuide3 жыл бұрын
I use these rods for panfish, and I am using 1/64 and 1/32 ounce jigs for super light biting sunfish and crappies most of the time. The strike indicator comes in handy for this situation. We did use these rods with 1/16 ounce tungsten jigs for pounding bottom for jumbo perch this past weekend (see my latest Fishing and Hunting the North Country show on this channel) and they worked just fine for that. I have used spoons that heavy for perch and crappies with these rods as well. You can run your line through the end line guide on the rod and not use the wire strike indicator if you wish for heavier lures and more aggressive bites. That versatility is the beauty of these rods. Good luck!
@KD-kf4zm3 жыл бұрын
@@MNFishingGuide Thank you for the detailed response. I currently have a 24" 'medium' legend, but I am considering getting an 'ultra light' or a 'light' while they are on sale. I mostly go for perch, but there are days when they bite so lite that it's nearly impossible to know they bit without an underwater camera. Sounds like you have been pretty happy with them and would recommend them. I have looked at the St Croix CCI rods and the G Loomis IMX pro ice rods, but I'm not experienced enough to know if I would benefit from those rods over a legend.

The sled is about six feet long total so depends on how tall you are.
