After the disappointment Veilguard brought to me, i had to return back to the root. Back home.

I wish Veilguard didn't exist. Even when ignored just knowing it's out there drags down the other Dragon Age games. It's the only one of the three with zero redeeming qualities.

А разве она не в Origins звучала в самый первый раз? По-моему при битве в какой-то таверне там именно она как раз и звучала, и Origins раньше вышла 2ой части.

Eh, veilguard was fine. Not dao levels, but not nearly as bad as people want to make it seem.
@slugshotgun14 күн бұрын
Veilguard is not really bad imo, just a complete tonal shift which makes it divisive to both new and old fans. I thought it was ok, but it definitely does not hold a candle to how origins made me feel back in the day, add in the nostalgia and it's a complete landslide.

-Dragon Age Origins was a masterpiece, one that even today, stand proudly among the greatest of all fantasy games of all times. -Dragon Age II was, unfortunately, not as good as his predecessor, yet in hindsight, we can see the effort and love put in it -Dragon Age Inquisition was a good rebound from II, intriguing storyline and fantastic characters even if yet again the glory of Origins wasn't quite reached. Veilguard, in my lonely opinon, do not deserve the title of Dragon Age. It may be in the same universe, with familiar faces all around, maybe it has some elements of fun here and there. It might even be not that bad... But it lacks the true soul of Dragon age. It is a fade, unpalatable simulacrum of something that was once great. Thus, I come back to Leliana's song. Certainly not for the last time, since I'm going to keep hearing this fantastic song till the day of my death. But I'm here to put to rest all my hopes and dreams for a new Dragon age game. Goodbye old friend. You have once brought me great joy. But now your time has come to rest. And though my heart has become grey and slow. I shall forever remember the tales, the laughs and the cries. Farewell dear friend.

Origins had some quippy dialogue but for some reason, the execution and the writing still fit the classic dark medieval fantasy tone, whereas veilguard's dialogue is so out of place for the setting that they are going for. Bioware really had something special with origins that made it feel like an instant classic, it is most prominent in the magical soundtrack, it's just unfortunate that they gradually shifted away from that with each sequel.

Lukas Kristjanson, narrative writer, worked so hard making Leliana such a deep character. He's the OG writer for the series and they friggin fired him in the last writers strike. Dragon age Veilguard is garbage without him. RIP dragon age. EA will learn what it means to fire a writer who put life into the game.

I had to come back here and cleanse myself with an actual Dragon Age theme; I can see from the comments that I’m not the only one. I like Hans Zimmer but his Veilguard theme is very forgettable compared to the three other Dragon Age games. Inon Zur delivered two masterpiece tracks for the first two games, and then Trevor Morris delivered his own masterpiece with Inquisition. Along with the music, it seems like every new thing I see from Veilguard is so detached from what came before. It’s weird how BioWare wants to move away from the greatest thing they ever made. I’m not sure that strategy is going to work out for the company’s future.
@homermarquez6001Ай бұрын
I like the Veilguard theme pretty much.
@snowpolerАй бұрын
Yeah the new theme is fiiinneee... and that's kind of it? Like it obviously doesn't sound bad, but it's the type you never really give it a second listen or thought, most of the time I think Hans Zimmer has some of my favourite soundtracks made ever out there too, it's just that to me a Dragon Age theme is all about that delicate and melancholic sounding beginning that then turns into this rather threatening interlude of brass instruments and violins. I miss that, and I really do miss the motif that we hear here and returned for DA2 Morris still wasn't Inon Zur, but I agree, I liked the main theme and the rest of the Inquisition soundtrack well enough! The Solas theme is still absolutely fantastic and all the tavern songs are great. They blended into that world quite well. Truth is I think that Baldur's Gate 3's main theme is more Dragon Age sounding than the actual current Dragon Age theme...
@abominablesnowman876Ай бұрын
Hans Zimmer's main theme for Dragon Age The Veilguard cannot even reach a quarter of the legendary essence of this song. His version didn't really capture the spirit of Dragon Age music that YOU pioneered.

So, Hans Zimmer just dropped his theme for Dragon Age: Veilguard and it's not even close to as evocative and stirring as this piece. Zur's theme truly sweeps you up and teleports you to another world. Superlative.

Hans Zimmer working on Veilguard is the definition of just doing it for the money tbh. Not a single theme that stirs the blood like DAO-DA2 and DA3.
