You’re building a purple martin box. Swallows eat mosquitoes. Purple martins eat lots of insects, but not mosquitoes. You should change your title to “Building a purple martin box.”

I think you need to have some distance between the boxes, to avoid the fighting.

Purple Martins don’t fight too much, but they are terrible about trying to claim two holes per pair.

The holes look a little to big brother . Hopefully you don’t have Sterling’s and European House Sparrow . Purple Martins are also swallows .

2 and 1/4 too big for swallows. It allows predators like house sparrows and european starlings access.

No need for boiling anything carved from green wood just let it dry in a cool airy place and olive oil is a bad choice for finishing as it goes rancid better to use natural linseed oil or walnut oil

The video in a nutshell. “This pack is awesome”, “this pack is a good good pack”. Nothing more, nothing substantial, nothing about the features. This video was a waste of time.

Consider yourself lucky. We have a twenty-four hour check law where I live. I think it's for the best. There's never a reason to let an animal suffer, and I've even had Conibear traps and snares, especially snares, catch animals in ways that just made them suffer, rather than killing them. I learned to set snares so I almost always get a kill, or miss the animal entirely, but many don't know how to do this, and, sadly, this includes some of the most influential people on KZbin. A Conibear seldom fails, but I've a beaver get its paw into a 110 trap, and couldn't pull loose. And can you explain why and how a river otter apparently backed into a Conibear so only its back legs were caught? I've also caught several cats when my trapline was miles and miles from the nearest people. Anyway, I don't believe foothold traps should ever go more than twenty-four hours, unless they're used in a drown set. I finally learned how to catch pretty much anything with a Conibear or a snare, though they have their own dangers. An animal caught in such a trap is dead, and if it's the wrong animal, you can't release it.

Boil in milk not water the Glacein found in water based paint is absorbed by the wood but there's no need really as spoons and bowls are so thin they usually dry without problems as for the olive oil that's a no no it will go rancid better using Tung,Danish,Flax or walnut oil.
