Uni-knot is easiest to remember but there are better knots. Palomar knot is my goto.

What bait is light enough so it doesnt just sink the in line float? Which heavy bait should i avoid?

On the side of most spin-cast reels, there is a triangle that you're supposed to hook your line on. That's for spooling line. Just FYI

Circle hooks with the eye that is in line with the shank should not be snelled. If you like snelling hooks you need to get the OCTOPUS circle hooks (a fishing hook with a bent eye). Those are specifically designed for snelling.

Absolutely not. It's only a single loop around the eye, Google either Snell knot or Palamar knot. The Snell is the best by far. It cannot break

I just tie a simple overhand knot and it has never failed me. If you get down to your end of your spool you have messed up anyway

The fish don't care which knot you use . If they're hungry they'll strike anything

Or you can use an arbor knot to tie your line to the arbor of the spool

To double the strength, run the tag end through the hook eye again. It's incredible strong. Stronger than the line.

The point is that the arbor knot breaks easily and doesn’t damage your spool with high test line

I just fasten it with a bit of half dried semen. been doing it for 40 years, never given me a problem

No it’s not the best, the best is the Palomar knot by far, simpler, easier, and stronger

I use the clinch knot more than another knot

Just tie a Palomar knot around the spool. Only takes 2 seconds

why not just use a loop with slip knot.... way easier

You can also use a granny knot around the spool and just reel the line. I been fishing for 39 years I ain’t never had a bulge in my line.

you are missing the point of using the arbor knot. sure it will break, but if you get to that point on the spool, you deserve it. Almost every other knot is bigger and leaves a lump in the spool.

This would be good for trolling but I personally put a 4 oz bullet wait then a swivel and about a foot long from that is were I put a circle hook
