question. why do we follow pemdas backwards?

my school usually doesn't do how u did at second example with x not equalling vertex we usually just write real numbers, I'm fairly sure the vertex doesn't limit x value + also makes y = or greater than, unlike how u just wrote greater than... might be something do to with open circle which i dont really get but thx
