I want to say you have a real natural talent but I don't want to discount the work and practice you must have put in over the years. You must have started learning in your teens at least. I assume you were heavy into electric and played in bands, correct? Got any electric gear still? I love the acoustic open-handed picking stuff. I started dabbling in open handed picking a few years back, and it's fun on acoustic but I'm still too sloppy.

One time years ago I was handed a guitar by an employer (a metal head) who said "play something." I played stuff I knew at the time. (Hendrix licks etc.) No backup, nothing. When I stopped he said, "I guess Metallica can sleep easy tonight!" I thought hmm, how about that Robert Johnson. He may still insult me, but his words will carry less weight. I've developed a preference for playing alone which makes open mic scarier lol. I do have a strat.

And you're playing open handed and tossing in some nice riffs as well while keeping the bottom going. Again, well done. You sure know what you're doing.

That's what I like about it too. Making sound an acoustic guitar like an electric is hard on the fingers. I do it on my videos as well.
