One great looking tractor! The 426 was spinning a little too high to get that kind of horsepower. I really wish AC could have developed an engine in the 500+cu in range. But like many other tractor companies back then that too many irons in other fires, the tractor division didn’t get the funding they needed. IH was the same way. It’s sad.

@@thevox1075 great point it’s the same issue Oliver ran into keeping the 310 in the 1855/1955
@thevox107511 күн бұрын
@ absolutely. The 310 was great in the 1755. But could have used a little more beefing up for the bigger tractors. I’ll tell you what, the 301 engine in the Allis was a great little engine!
@BIBSTERSrepairshop11 күн бұрын
@ yes it was I really wish Oliver had the chance to do the corporate tractor like they were planning on would have been awesome.
@thevox107511 күн бұрын
@ I’ve seen a video on here about that corporate tractor. Oliver might have still been around if White hadn’t got involved. The revamped 50 series wouldn’t have become the 55 series. Oliver was innovative. Grandpa had some. Those straight 6’s delivered smooth power. Sounded better than all the four cylinders at the time.
@thegreenerthemeaner11 күн бұрын
They had a 516 of Buda origin and the 731 in the 4W 305 that wasn't so great I've been told by some AC experts. 500 cube engines done correctly cover some good HP territory.
