This actual case happened in 2013. The case of The Beastie Boys vs. Monster in which they (e.g. Monster Energy Drink) blamed DJ Z-Trip for they sloppiness and laziness in creating a contract or really lack of...in which they copywrited the Beastie Boys music, and blamed DJ Z Trip for infringement by saying it was DJ Z Trip that approved it....by saying the word "Dope"
