May you be resting in peace with no more pain. From what I’ve seen you truly were living your life to the fullest. May you be in gods arms being comforted always. To your family god bless.

I learned this when I went to Camp Fire Girls & Boys camp at Camp Sealth. I remember hearing of the story about the girl that was sick and wrote the song. I wish I could find out who it was...

This song randomly popped into my head. We used to sing it in elementary school, 30 years ago.

I had not watched this before now. I had it saved. I just couldn't watch it. Kayla and Danielle were such incredible friends to Katie. The very end of this video shows just how difficult that was for them.

Beautiful!! This was my favorite Girl Scout song, and I was reminded it after walking along the Mississippi this weekend. What a wonderful gift to hear it sung so beautifully. Thank you!

I was a CIT & then a camp counselor at Camp Robbinswold & Camp River Ranch in WA. for years. It was in 1982 or 83 that we visited 4 or 5 camps while at R. Ranch & Camp Sealth & C. Don Bosco were two of them. Did C. Stealth have a treehouse? I remember walking over a large, grassy area to a treehouse. And at one camp, we were making friendship bracelets, and I left the prettiest, unfinished one behind, forgetting to pack it the day we left. Miraculously, after all these years, the name Carebear is familiar, but I suppose it was also a popular name. One year I was Curly, another year Astro. Anyone from that era still around? Like Dusty? Or Juniper? One year at R. Ranch there were only 7 of us as CIT's. My, what amazing times they were!

Learned this song from a young lady I had a serious crush on in 1971. She too had learned it at Camp Sealth. Still love the song, and remember the girl very fondly. Hello Karen, wherever you may be. Hope your barges have taken you many wonderful places. - Mark

@sevada barron NO WAY I found her too! It’s been eight fucking years and I still recognized her immediately! She was my math teacher for 7th grade lol. Did you go to da Vinci arts middle school? Lmao I remember Pi day and the teacher talent shows where she’d sing and everything. Crazy to think that was all years ago!

@@lindsayfaust6454 I went to da Vinci for 6th and 7th grade, in like 2015/2017 In 7th grade I would go into her 6th grade classes and hangout like a TA I spent so much time bonding with her as a teacher. I was astonished when I came across this and recognized her!

it's really cool to see other people's experience on the zipper, especially taller people because me and my friend went on it, we're super tiny mind you, so when you flip we kind of bend our legs so we won't slip out, and once we did 8 flips in a row because we were about to get off but me and my friend kept rocking it.
@mollypowell87786 жыл бұрын
I love this song because we sung it at camp Adams and we heard the story about the girl that wrote it. It’s so sad bc she had like a disease and she wanted to sail on a boat while she was in the hospital. Eventually, she died, so it makes a hole in my heart (a good hole) every time i hear it.... especially with your voice!
