What Enterprise did you use for the rental. I called Elkhart and they want $.33/mile. Looking for a better deal.

No, main reason is they are too tall, other reason is that there's no way to load it

your lucky you dont have the dexter torflex axle on your shipshe. That what i have and its been 3 months looking for hubs rotors yokes calipers dexter is a nightmare

Do you have to shut off the valve on the aux tank to keep it from overflowing the main tank or can you just leave it open and go down the road? Like how does that work when you start off with both of them full?

I Leave it half way on while driving when they are full. When I'm stopped I shut it off. This truck can not be left on all the time as it will over flow

That's a Dexter axle issue with those cheap plastic caps they use. Lippert uses Valcrum aluminum caps OEM. Usually those big 15/16k axles are oil bath. Didn't even know they did grease pack on those. 8k and above come standard with oil bath.

Shipshe orders their axles greese packed. The cap bust because shipshe over tightens them

@@camperhauleru812 That figures, but those plastic caps are still garbage. They are the first thing to get rid of on an oil bath setup. Grease you've got a good chance to catch it before it destroys anything.

With a 46ft deck 3 units are not often done on this trailer. As for the trailer I like it for hauling trailers and cars

You swore! Im.butt hurt!😂 BTW. Knee pads are for rookies! Seriously, good advice. A good relationship goes a long way. When I pulled for one of the big uns...I was given a load by a dispatcher that I had a relationship with. I didn't see it on the board. He said, "Yeah.. there's an "A" board and "B" board. You can't see the B board.

That’s the same way I built mine Shawn but I did buy the mattress from Walmart and cut it down. I sleep better in my truck than I do at home lol.

1000% correct. I don’t remember the last time I pulled a load that was on the board. It don’t happen over night but when you get that relationship built with those agents you don’t have to worry about staying busy. I’m usually turning down work from at least 1 of 5 of our agents cause I simply can’t keep up. Guess that’s a good problem to have. Stay safe out there

I agree with everything you said but question your explanation on the "One Ton Dulley": If you have a One Ton Dulley and a trailer of 11k pounds, (Duelley's are GVWR 14K usually) then you are under the 26k limit for Non-CDL. However, if you have a Dulley that was rigged for Utility Bed from Dealer they are GVWR at 16k or above. and your 10k rule kicks in. Note one- that most Utility trucks are done aftermarket and the truck is GVWR 14k on a Dulley. two- dispatchers are not dumb, uneducated people are not dumb, they were not informed. @@camperhauleru812 It’s pretty sad how garbage those newer ones are compared to the ones they put in the 2018 and earlier trucks. I call them “Came-aparts”. And the prices on the trucks themselves have gotten ever more ridiculous with each passing year. Single pull camper delivery is a waste of time/fuel/miles anyway. If the truck’s making a couple grand to haul a load of cargo trailers or RV units 600-700 miles that’s different, but the trailer is a big commitment.

Also, Isn’t it true that with a CDL-A, assuming, you’re not apportioned, or have a registration for greater than 26,000 lbs, that you must keep the combined actual scale weight for trailer and power unit under 26K, as opposed to the non CDL rule, which, as you stated, is a combined GVWR of trailer and power unit? If you have CDL-A, you really need to know the scale weight of the truck, fully loaded with all tanks full, and everything you’re going to transport with (and not having taken your morning dump yet-LOL). That, weight, plus the scale weight (ShippingWeight) of the trailer is what has to be 26,000 lbs or less. Am I correct about this? Also, worth noting that each truck as a Combined Gross Weight Rating (CGWR), established by the truck manufacturer. You need to get that from the Mfg.’s specs for that year and model. Although DOT, and FMCSA won’t care if you exceed that CGWR, if you have a bad wreck and someone is injured, you can bet that their attorney and insurance company will know what that CGWR is, and if you’re over that, you are screwed. I have a 2004 F-250 with a GCWR of 24,400. Thats a limit that my insurance will allow. I don’t transport with that truck. But I do have a F-350 Long Bed, with high capacity frame. My GCWR is 11,500 lbs. filly loaded and wet, it’s 10,400.

How much does that trailer weigh out of curiosity? Pin weight on the hitch when empty? They look pretty intimidating to hook on to with a little butt beater 1-ton dually

The trailer with equipment comes in at 10,000 pounds. I think 1500 is pin weight. The one ton does surprisingly well with it

Just curious … in addition to locating a new (or salvaged) front bumper, do you still need to locate a new (or salvaged) left fender? Apologies if you’ve already explained this in a previous video.

I'd prefer the steel or aluminum pooch decking for strapping the tires. Take 3 also builds a very similar trailer to Shipshe for trailer hauling.

@@camperhauleru812 That's right. I went in and asked them about it one time and they said it was like $600 a month or something but you had to be leased onto them of course. The aluminum deck 2020 has been sitting out there for quite awhile so there must not be too many takers right now. I wonder what they'd want for that one if somebody was interested in buying it. The other steel deck one is a 2022 and looks like it's never even been used.
