I know this is an old video but how do you have any idea what your cell count is? I know over pitching and under pitching can both be pretty big issues. Just seems like you really have no idea what you’re pitching

In fact, depending on where you live, if it doesn't have hops, it can't be called a beer but is labeled as a malt liquor!

I just got this green tea flavoured with soursop and it's aroma and bitterness remind me a lot of new wave american hops. I had this idea you could mix it with some kind of syrup and sparkling water to get something close to ipa/apa :)

Yo! I just brewed this (but I'm doing it no chill) it'll go in the fermenter tomorrow. I have a question, when you add flameout hops it shows as having no IBU's, but it adds bitterness, is there any way to predict the IBU's that you can expect from flameout additions? P.S. your videos are great, I won't be angry if you get around to making some more.

Hey! New to brewing (haven’t done my first batch yet) and I love your vids. Quick thought: if your ground water isn’t cold enough, could you put a second immersion chiller into an ice bucket to help cool it before it goes into the kettle?

Seems like a good idea! I’ve been wanting to get a pump and try recirculating water through ice or something too. You can look into “no chill,” but it’s not something I’ve tried myself. Good luck!

I've got a Stout on the go, and was wondering WTF I was doing with it... but I'm gonna drop it in to my mini-Vevor 1 gal (small batch stout) and force carb it where I want it. Pro tip: that flask is lab grade glass and was designed to be heated. Just boil the sugar on your gas stove right in it. And chill then pitch. It’s so much easier.

This is what I do, a single drop of Fermcap stops any boilovers too. I also put the magnet in the boil so essentially everything in the flask is sterile. Also no need to boil 15 minutes, even just 1 minute is plenty

I have seen so many methods with the shaken not stirred. I do recommend this version of a starter if you’re using hot head kveik yeast. I just wouldn’t recommend shaking it every hour like you did with that strand of yeast.

Hi, since Kveik metabolism is faster than other Ale yeast, would you still recommend a 48 hs Starter or something more like half of that time, thanks for your advice! I have saved a bit of my last Voss Batch, and was planning to use the stirring plate with the magnetic pill

@@yovaalvarado9773. I have always done a starter for just 24 hours. Works well with even liquid yeast past 5 months. When I asked omga about using a starter they said it never hurts to make a starter. If you don’t like the results with the 24 hour starter go for the 48 hours like you were doing.

2.5 gallons / 9.5 L reverse osmosis water 2.5g Calcium Chloride 1g Gypsum 3g Citric Acid Heat to 180F / 82C Steep tea for 6 mins (Mix of white and English breakfast, amounts not stated) Steep hops at 140F / 60C 1/2 oz / 14g Glacier hops 1/2 oz / 14g Galaxy hops Taste review stated 3 mins would be better steep time for the tea, add more hops and steep hops are 140F (120F in video).

I think that thermometer should be an adhesive one, I have received some of those while buying Brewing gear on Amazon, you just paste it to any vessel, very useful indeed d

Hey Peter. Speaking of fermentation and temperature, when do heat wraps and fridges for fermentation come into play? I guess the question is what types of beer require something when it can't be room temperature during fermentation?

Switching to a hydra chiller was a game changer for me. Expensive option but it is the best I have used.

I'm new to kegging.. does the c02 stay on the keg for the whole week or two it's sitting in the kegerator, like at serving pressure (8-12psi)? or is the c02 at the 30 psi? thanks man love your content.
