This fine song sounds way too modern to be from 1966. I'd guessed 1970-72.

It was the dirty edge that pushed the Knack to the top with their first album. Once they ventured into the S&M stuff, however, they’d gone too far-and Doug Fieger’s ego started outstripping his talent.

This is the song where Fieger blew The Knack off. They already had great instrumentals, but the nature of their lyrics is far too degrading to outweigh.

It is a crying shame this did not get a better plugging and air play in the UK rather than My Sharona. Even though that was a classic hit. I much prefer this. I have to admit.

I remember when The Knack were riding the charts. There was talk that they were "the new Beatles". Boy were they wrong !! No one can deny, their songs were good, but they died off rather quickly.

Are you sure it's that Kray film? There are so many films based on the Krays. I couldn't find this song in the soundtrack. Would like to know which film this song is featured in.

Yeah the guitar riff is kinda like Sharona but this one has WAY MORE ENERGY. The problem was that Sharona was played on radio SO F-ING MUCH that people were not into a similar guitar riff. Ya know it's funny because Chuck Berry used the Same rhythmic sounds on his records and everyone still loved his songs. Then again, the circumstances were quite different because HE was one of the Inventors of Rock & Roll during its very inception, wiping older acts like Sinatra and Rosemary Clooney off the charts and recreating a new market from adults and into the new marketing to teenagers. By the time the Knack came along, most people recognized their Beatle influences. They were not pioneers but a lot of people loved/love their first album. It has a lot of good songs which is more than you can say for a lot of other albums.
