If the Panzer division had not been attacked at every opportunity by the resistance D.day could have failed. Massacres were an instrument of terror for many during the war. After which the living here refused to let it be a case of move on and forget. It is an enduring remembrance to all the fallen and not forgotten. We did not know them but their pain still lingers here.

Hello from Guernsey, did you need an IDP to drive your van in Europe? I’m planning a similar trip in my Japanese imported motor home and I’m planning on visiting Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I understand that an IDP is required for Montenegro and Bosnia but having a Channel Islands license did you need any other paperwork?

@@jackjoyce1744 Hi, we took both our JSY license’s & IDP with us, neither got checked, I would highly recommend the IDP as some countries might not be familiar 🇯🇪 🇬🇬 license’s. Also make sure you have the original copy of your MH V5 certificate, and it’s worth checking your insurance covers the countries you wish to travel to (especially if it’s a local firm) Your trip sounds good, we plan to visit 🇧🇦next time, Hope this helps 😊 Tash

@ I’ve been before. I highly, highly recommend staying at the Kravice Waterfalls national park. There’s a campsite about a 10 minute walk from the waterfall lake that you can swim in. I also recommend a place called Počitelj castle if your in the Herzegovina region of southern Bosnia. Fuel, food, booze etc is a lot cheaper than Croatia. I was in the Kravice waterfalls and the prices at the bar were very cheap. If I remember it was €5 for 2 500ml local beers. Also, you’ll need cash because most places don’t take card and Bosnia uses the Bosnian Mark (BAM). Most touristy places do accept euros but it can be hit and miss. I do recommend not crossing at the Zlaton Doli/Neum border because the Bosnian side doesn’t stamp and then if you go to another country like Montenegro, the border guards can be funny about it. What also helps is that Bosnia and Montenegro aren’t in the Schengen Area so any time spent there does not count towards the 90/180 day rule. Did you get an IDP for every country that you have driven through or just one?

@ I believe there’s 3 different types of IDP, if you go on the gov website it will tell you which one you need for the countries you’re visiting, as currently France doesn’t require Jersey license holders to carry one, might be different for Guernsey, hope this helps.

Found your channel yesterday and subscribed. I've been watching your trip around Europe and really enjoyed all the episodes. We are thinking of buying a 68 and so the problems you encountered than needed to be fixed was most interesting since a lot of people are trashing Auto Trail build quality in the forums. The short screw (bed) was also mentioned by someone on another channel, so either a design fault or someone at the factory isn't doing it right! You didn't mention if they fixed the habitation door blind rattling or not, so that would be good to know. Have you had any other issues other than the gas leak (which was a bottle and nothing to do with Auto Trail)? If we do get one I'm really looking forward to visiting Jersey!

@@DaveEP Thank you for subscribing to our channel 😊 Pleased you have been enjoying our Europe series. We can’t fault the 68 and we both absolutely love the van, we have also seen the build quality comments about AT on other forums but I would say that’s to be expected with a budget Van compared to similar vans out there with a much higher price tag. As regards to the screw in the bed since it’s been fixed there has been no dramas there, so I think maybe that’s a design fault as you mentioned. The sliding we didn’t get fixed and strangely it hasn’t caused us an issue since (unless we have been on a really bad road) The only other issue we had was the water tank alarm saying it was empty when it was full at the end of our trip, but we are still to look into resolving it, & Jersey 🇯🇪 is a great place to visit 😊 Tash

Hi T&T I have been looking for a camper that meets my requirements, loved the honest review of your camper as it’s one on my list, my only concern is the gas cylinders and how much domes the van use, normally I only use gas brewing up, ( as downsizing from Motorhome) think the garage is a winner/plus fixed bed, saves having a cycle rack on the body, great blog will keep you updated on what I end up with

@@b14clg Thank you for the comment, with regards to the gas cylinders, we find they last pretty good, on our recent trip one bottle lasted roughly 2 months, but we are a bit like you only used the gas for brews/a few hob meals and the occasional time for heating when off grid. The 68’s are great vans and the fixed bed and huge garage are definitely a bonus 😊 We look forward to hearing which van you go for, Tash & Tracey

Really enjoyed your videos on this trip and like how you give the image of the aire you stay at - very helpful! I have kept a book on everywhere we have been in our van, dates, costs of fuel, spending etc etc. it is fun to look back on over the years. Wishing you a Happy New Year and lots more travels. @Carolscampervancapers You will enjoy San Marino 🇸🇲 It’s great! 😊 Regards to the IDP, our process was easy and we where able to obtain one from our local parish hall ( we live in Jersey ) If you are from the UK I believe you may be able to apply for one from certain shops that have pay point.
