Please reconsider using this due to the possibility of chemicals from the tire leaching into the water, especially when exposed to heat and sunlight 😬 Exposed steel wire used in the tires construction if ingested, can lead to the potentially fatal hardware disease. The wire can also cut or poke the cattle.

Can Senapol Cattle survive midwest winters say in Illinois? Snow sometimes below zero, etc....
@deanschneider4225 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't want fullbloods there. !/4 bloods would be fine and provide all the heat tolerance you would need in my opinion.

@@deanschneider4225 Ok. Great....thanks for the information.

Why not just use the senepol why cross with the angus in the senepol already have what you want heat tolerance? Just curious question

What are you using for your fence grounding
@deanschneider4225 Жыл бұрын
I am just hooking it to a barbed wire fence with steel posts. It has worked well for us.

Would you rather use a DC unit versus the AC unit?
@deanschneider4225 Жыл бұрын
Yes the DC unit takes onw more piece that can go wrong out of the equation and the ac with inverter takes more juice. I have had trouble with the battery staying up in the winter through cloudy stretches. I actually put a second panel on it about two months ago to see if that would fix the problem.

@@deanschneider4225 I am in Michigan and I have found that I have to use much larger solar panels than what they recommend. I always buy my sold are solar panels separate from a different supplier then white the manufacture of the fence energizer recommends I think there always under sizing it because they’re trying to not shocked the customer with the cost.

Hi Dean, Do you guys worry about putting up a back fence after the battlatch opens? Any issues with cows going back for a second bite, or, if like you said you're moving every 12 hours do they never have a reason to go back through the open gate? Thanks!
@deanschneider42252 жыл бұрын
Generally we want to have a back fence after 3-4 days. After that they will start going back and grazing regrowth which is what we want to avoid.
