Hey I'm looking for any information on the workings of getting the acorn 180 foot rest motorized operation going. The installer left a wiring harness with me for it. I see on the main PCB a labelled connection but where does the other end of a the harness plug in? Is there a motor already installed in the housing for the footrest? I appreciate any help...

2 cents here .. As @Ken Flack noted in Facebook Acorn Stairlift Users Group and videos in video sites, Acorn F7 OSG error are failing or triggering without a real Over Speed condition. Several DIY guys in Maple Ridge and Vancouver BC have figured a permanent solution, or two. My diligent Internet search has not turned up a single Over Speed condition in Acorn 120, 130, Bison Bede 80, or Acorn 180 stairlifts, including CPSC product safety recalls and the UK stairlift engineers' forum. Therefore, logic militates there is no genuine function for this trigger-happy, failure-prone Acorn stairlift component.

Hi Rob I am in Northern Ireland and have just removed on of these 180 curved units and fitted in a friends house who sadly has a severe stroke. However I only fitted the straight section as the stairs are short from the hall to upper floor. Cannot see any why of getting it to go onto high speed as it leaves the charging points. It slows down and creeps into both the top and bottom charging points. ?

DON’T BUY! Acorn lifts are not worth it. I had one installed for my father when mobility became an issue with stairs. The lift for some reason stopped working altogether. He had to call 911 to help him get down the stairs. I received a phone call from the police about the situation and how scared my father was. Fortunately the police stayed with my dad until I arrived. I placed a phone calls to the person who installed lift. No phone calls after a week were returned. My husband and I took it upon ourselves to take out the lift. A month later Acorn decided to return our call.

My 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S with the 1.8 liter (4 cylinder) just started having the "dying while driving" trouble. Trust me, it is not fun or funny when it happens. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS !!! Just driving along and it's like someone turns off the ignition key. No power steering and no power brakes !!!! If I wait 10 minutes, the car starts back up (until it doesn't) like nothing ever happened, until it happens again. I just drove a 265 mile trip (all highway) that normally takes 4 1/2 hours now took 7 1/2 hours !!! Three (total) HOURS on the side of a 4 lane interstate highway !!! It shut off about 20 times !!!!! Never had an issue if I just drive it short distances around town doing errands, but not long highway driving. The car runs perfect (except this problem) and burns zero oil even with 330,000 miles (original engine) and gets 33 mpg. I hate to get rid of it but my wife will not drive it, and I won't allow her to any longer. New cars are no better than the old ones just more expensive. Any help out there ?????

My daughters 99 honda accord did the same thing...be driving along just fine and then...it would just die, it would start back though....took it to a dealer...it was the ignition switch worn out...the contacts would loose connection ...i hope you figured it out by now...hope this helps...does it give any codes?

@@subarumanrp233 Crank sensor, Cam sensor and both O2 sensors. New air filter, Cleaned throttle body (then idle relearn), and new fuel pump. These parts were all out of range and I do not just throw parts at my car. Car runs like new again. :) I still have one relay on the passengers side under hood that is (maybe starter relay-it's in the starter circuit) giving me a fit because it looses it's connection. The car won't crank unless I push the relay to one side and wait for it to click. Then it starts every time.

@@timgiles9413 Thanks! If I can ask....because I dont have much in the line of diagnostic tools, how did you determine that they were out of range? Thats always been my struggle....THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

@@subarumanrp233 I used a multimeter and a Clymers manual. All the specs are in there. Sure, I just replaced both o2 sensors without checking. For a few hundred bucks the car runs great. It's old but it's better than a car payment for a computer driven car. The 02 sensors were probably way off the charts....trashed em' :)

*Enemies of science, also called Food Bullies, are everywhere.* 'Food Babe' is the blog of activist/woo pusher Vani Hari, a professional troll who is best known for her campaign to get the chemical azodicarbonamide removed from sandwich chain bread recipe. Hari might be best considered the Mike Adams of food activism. Unlike Adams, she doesn't rely on pure hysteria; she also trades on recipes and, as the title of her blog suggests, her looks, as well as the occasional stopped clock moment. Hari is maybe not quite as dangerous as Joseph Mercola (who endorses her) or Mike Adams, but that's not exactly comforting. Her standards of evidence are based on total nonsense, and rather than promoting moderation, she mostly just wraps up obsessiveness and scolding in an apparently well-meaning package. Is she incompetent or a liar? Well, it doesn't really matter. Most of her "investigative" process can be summed up as either "Joseph Mercola said so, therefore spinning water in a blender really does make it healthier" or "if I can't pronounce it, it must cause cancer. The usual ration of nature woo nonsense. She's strongly anti-GMO, anti-vaccine, pro-organic, chemophobic, the whole works. She's a raw milk advocate and a nitrite basher. She bashes fast food so relentlessly that she clearly will eventually be caught in a compromising position with a Big Mac. She refuses to use a microwave oven because she's a fan of Masaru Emoto's water woo.[2][3] She's claimed that the pressurized cabins in airliners compress your internal organs, and that the cabin air can contain "up to 50% nitrogen."[4] (Waaay above the percentage in natural healthy ground-level air, of course.[5]) Essentially, she fancies herself a consumer advocate whose job it is to protect you from toxic food ingredients, with said toxicity determined by how scary or unfamiliar the name of the ingredient is. In reality she uses fear as a selling strategy. Her products mainly consist of items from companies she has a commission referral system in place with. Ms. Hari demonstrates little to no dignity or humility when challenged by experts. A National Public Radio (NPR) article on 4 December 2014 covered her irresponsible tactics and was scathing as it identified her as a fear-monger.[6] In response, two days later, Ms. Hari wrote an essay to portray herself as the victim of corporate shills.[7] Of course, such accusations are absurd as NPR is a public media outlet by definition. Her effort was aimed at covering up her woo, misinformation and rampant censoring on social media where most engage her with scientific inquiry. In fact, respected and well-trained scientists have already refuted many of the claims she made in her essay on victimization including, for example, the fact that she did not stay for questions in a public lecture at the University of Florida.[8] Such rebuttals include scanned copies of letters from organizers and, not surprisingly, regret that Ms. Hari was ever invited in the first place. Hari has a degree in computer science and worked as a management consultant.[9] The food thing appears to be a hobby that took off." rationalwiki.org/wiki/Food_Babe
Propylene glycol is often used to maintain the moisture in prepared foods and works to maintain their flavor quality for longer periods of time. It is also found in flavorings, such as vanilla or almond extracts used in baking, and in some types of food coloring. Yes, propylene glycol can be safely consumed. Nobody with an education cares what that creepy food bully thinks. Food and medical grade propylene glycol has been ingested by humans for decades. It is a functional aid to constipation. "Propylene glycol is a synthetic liquid substance that absorbs water. ... The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified propylene glycol as an additive that is "generally recognized as safe" for use in food. It is used to absorb extra water and maintain moisture in certain medicines, cosmetics, or food products." Jan 21, 2015 www.atsdr.cdc.gov/phs/phs.asp?id=1120&tid=240
