This album is best heard on dark evenings after work. Especially this tune.

I grew up in the early 1960s and have been blessed to have been around a lot of different types of music,, I learned about Bill in the 1980s and started listening and knew right away I had dialed on to something. Same thing in Stevie Ray Vaughan. both caught my ear straight off

The intro of this recording of this tune is just too good.

There is an error in the title, it is not the "Live in New York 1980" but it is the recording of the disc "The Paris concert Edition one" (1979).

Bill wrote this tune for Mundell Lowe's daughter, when they were touring with Red Norvo band.

I love the bass so much at 2:12, especially the piano response

0:33 that beat when the kick comes in just for a moment just kills me everytime. I don't know why but to me it feels like a brief moment of energy in the midst of the sadness of the song.

Love this. Learning to appreciate Como and jazz, more and more, the phrasing and dynamics, the emotional expression. Maybe it's my age. Any jazz keyboardists out there who'd like to team up to record something? My range is similar to Como's. Maybe a little more extended than his. It's a long shot, I know, but so what. I'm in the Portland, OR area but remote is easy these days.

The Most Telepathic Trio of All Time... ...and ten days after this was recorded, one third of that shared intelligence, bass virtuoso Scott LaFaro, would die in an auto accident. Cherish this.

La más bella versión entre dos grandes músicos que sin abandonar el tono romántico agrega una perfecta pindelada de jazz que ilumina la melodía, un claroscuro entre dos almas; podría atreverme a decir casi una forma novedosa del lied.

This song will forever put me in mind of sitting in some empty downtown bar on a rainy autumn Monday twilight evening, reminiscing about my youth and my late wife Annie, as the bartender pours me another Thank you WKRP and may God forever bless all the 11 souls lost that December night in Cincinnati
God upon hearing Scott Lofaro’s solo that night must have said, I WANT TO HEAR MORE OF THIS BRILLIANT PLAYING HERE and that’s why he took him just a few days later. R.I.P. Scott & Bill.

I always felt like building an alter in my house and putting this CD on it. I never did, but Bills Evans always takes me to beautiful and sublime place.
