Nice plot insert. Looks typical, showing amplitude modulation due to dual resonance. BTW, if you trigger on interrupt pulse lead edge rather than current signal, scope trace position will be more stable.

Hi, great guide! for measuring the primary resonance freq., the "Ch1" that measures current across the shunt resistor seems to be a regular voltage probe?
@lewisse5
@lewisse5 Ай бұрын
Yes, the voltage across the resistor is proportional to the current flowing through it.

Hmm. I think it's not worth the driver itself. I think it's worth to make youre own. Hmm, maybe it ran for a too long time. What made me concerned was that the driver itself was exposed which means that the arcs could probably have reached it which destroyed the driver. Make your own. It's expensive anyway.

Very cool Video, I have built the same tesla coil and went to fire it up again for the first time in a long time and the voltage regulator is overheating and i tried changing it and the capacitors are fine and its still overheating and no arcs, not sure where to go from here any ideas? I tested the output and it was outputting 4.2 volts with 1.7 amps at 13 volts which is incorrect, could it be an IC or something?

When I have 240V sockets, I shouldn't have to convert them to 120V like you, right? And should I replace the primary capacitor with a 100nF one? And what about the IGBTs and rectifier, should I preemptively replace them even though the original ones are still fine? Thank you for the answers!
@lewisse5
@lewisse5 8 ай бұрын
You dont need to convert if your already on 240V. Switching out the capacitor isnt necessary either, but it helps reduce the coupling du to less turns on the primary. If you plan on changing your IGBTS, might as well give them hell while they are still functional ;)

I would like to add that there is a vital component it concerns. Tesla's reported remarks, " It's uplifting." What is uplifting is that the spark is fusing nitrogen and oxygen together to make nitric oxide NO, before you touch the blue touch paper, lest be clear NO has been used in incubators for 25 years with no side effects, oh that if you ignore its use in ITUs in the treatment of ??? Well, everything, like 20,000 peer review papers on pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov, for example, cardiovascular pulmonary disease, organ failure, Cancers. They are in the public domain, just research, one paper in 2022 a clinical team working on a Covid ITU ward, was given 50ppm for 30 minute's twice a day for 3 mts until the trial was stopped. Last point NO scavanges blood clots.
