What temp do u think is too cold? I was wondering if I could just keep them in my garage.
@przyrodawmieszkaniu28872 сағат бұрын
If it is below freezing point for more than just a few hours - it would be too much. Also - the substrate has to be completely dry.

At what point do you have to move them to a bigger pot
@przyrodawmieszkaniu288714 күн бұрын
What I do, instead of transplanting, I just renew the plant: I root a stem or two (or three) and plant them to create a new plant.

What a lovely little red flower! TBH I've never really been into cactuses (cacti?) very much but when they flower, the flowers seem extra luminous in comparison to the main cactus body. Cactus seem to be only one colour. But now I feel like going to the nursery and buying one to try and make it flower!
@przyrodawmieszkaniu2887Ай бұрын
So true! When cacti bloom, they change completely. Be careful, though - collecting cacti - plants in general, actually, can be very addictive! :)

It's such a beautiful plant. Have you ever experimented with not giving the plants a cold dormancy? The shorter days of winter and reduced watering seem to provide a condition for dormancy and the cactus still bloom in my heated home. I suspect the brown on your cactus is cold scarring. It adds interesting character. I really like this plant and all of your collection. Thank you.

Thank you for your advice. You might be right, extreme cold temperatures are more of a challenge to small plants than to larger ones.

Thank you so much for this video. Your plant looks very nice and I really love the flowers. Thank you also for explaining the care of this kind of plant. I have watched numerous videos and read numerous articles and I still had no clue how to care for it and what to watch out for. Now I know why my tips get dry and what to do about it. You‘ve propably saved quite a few huernias that would otherwise have died in my care 😂
