Cycle doesn't have to do anything with the journey, only your courage matters. Of course, a better cycle with good saddle, disc brakes, quick release will give you more comfort but if you are ready to bear all these discomforts, bwin my bike is good to go.

I did leh to khardung-la. When I was searching for the information on the internet, in one of the blogs I read that a rickshaw puller did Manali to leh on his rickshaw.

Well I would suggest including full body workout twice a week. Try strength & conditioning in between. In cycling not only your legs are working but your upper body also need to be strengthened. You can easily do 40 km after a while. I wish all the best. I haven't planned any new cycling expedition but when I will I shall let you know . Thank you.

@@shazan. I spent around 70k because I bought a new cycle of in Manali 😀. But costly totally depend how much you want to spend on staying. All my cost includes flight cost to Delhi then my leh to Delhi and bus cost.

Sorry for responding late. You will find multiple padded shorts which can be used . I would prefer to choose shorts based on your distance of rides. You can find good padded shorts in decathlon , I use underpant for shorter rides.

You can do it near to any dhabba or depending upon your comfort. Also water will be available on every dhabba.

You won't need any permit as a cyclist. You are a free bird on that highway. But if you want to pedal to khardung la then you will be required to show the permit.

I am not sure about the rent of bicycle but i feel it won't be more than 10k. Also you won't need any permit to go to ladakh. But for khardung la i paid around 480 rs.

Well on my trip i carried a spare tube. But luckily i didn't had any puncture. Also i use puncture patch to repair punctures. Not sure how much sealant will be helpful because i didn't use it.

Bro any cycle is best for long distance . Just make sure your seat is at right height and you comfortable. Also if you have mountain or ghats then considering a geared one is a good option. Let me know incase you need more details 🙂
