8 gigs are cheaper, but not all the ram is the same. You need to make sure to buy the same type of ram (timers and speeds) and to have an open slot on your MB to place it.

I'm really enjoying the long live streams of this game. The NY invasions have given me some difficulty. The british also invaded 2x more times in the Falmouth/Portsmouth area immediately afterwards, and I'm even playing on easy haha. The game is very fun so far.

It was very educational and cool. Just remember that spear units, even if you attack them from behind, they still do a lot of damage to the cavalry and you have to be careful.

I really needed a video like this. Been really enjoying the game but I'm 30 hours in and still pretty confused. I'm definitely restarting my British campaign. I came to the same conclusion about holding the North but figuring out how the economy works has been a challenge

Is this game worth it? I know its on sale and it looks fun I like the logistics aspect and everything, it seems to have better and easier controls than Civil War. A lot of people are saying its a dead game but isnt it not fully released? I look forward to your playthrough but I really want to know if this game will be fun for me or not. Civil War kinda sucked in my opinion but I rushed it because 2 hours isnt enough to redeem the game or see if its fun or not.

If you're referring to adding your own officer to the game that was only available as part of an early supporters version. Emails were sent out months ago requesting everyone finalize their entries.

Interesting campaign! To me it looks like hard difficulty is easier than easy difficulty. I am wondering if you could check this out off camera? When I play on easy the British do not move out of Boston. They are passive. It seems on hard that they are more aggressive. Another thing I noticed is that whether which campaign you are playing the fleeing troops can run faster than your own troops. Anyways I look forward to the next episode.

The reason for the AI to be more aggressive probably has to do with having more men. This game is everything but not easy. I have played the US campaign many times and I understand the underlying game mechanics.

Blocking merchant ships from ports dosen't seem to be working i've blocked all the harbours down south to merchant vessels and there still sailing to those ports to drop off and pick up goods

Then it's a bug. Depending on your merchant ship losses limit the trade. Focus on wood and iron form colonies to Britain, so that you can produce muskets. Send recruits to colonies.

After the battle, you can capture enemy equipment. It's much cheaper than having to research and pay for your own.

Extremely helpful video. In my current game I've closed off all the Ports south of new York, however I'm still seeing merchant ships down there which are now being picked off by privateers. Is there something I'm missing? I don't know why my mercant ships are still headed down that way. All the ports have definitely been shut.

Glad you find it helpful. Give it some time, remember that travel time between colonies and Britain is 32 days. If this continues in a few months than it's a bug.

Great cast and thanks for it. Conquest is the best and addictive, although I like the frontline as well as a more casual. Conquest has that meta and persistent universe that makes of it a campaign. Will have some comments on the server when I get around to it. Cheers, Merry Christmas!

got a question about research speed is it cumulative? meaning that if i reserch a project that gives me 7.5% speed and than i reserch one that gives me 10% speed after the second one is done will i have a 10% bonus reserch speed or the cumulitive 17.5 reserch speed?

It's a good question, and to be honest I'm not sure how it works. If you get 100% at the start and then +7.5% + 10% + 10% After the first 107.5% | 10% is 10.75% = 118.25% (second) | 10% is 11.825 = 130.075% (third). You should be at around 130.1% of research speed after 3 upgrades.

I don't care too much about the price, but not going to buy it if it is as screwed up as it appeared to be at times watching your streams. Incomplete subroutine fleshing out, inconsiderate randomness to what should be strategic or even tactical decisions of importance, make me want to tear my hair out if all you can do is sort of wait for RNG. I'll wait for your considered opinion, whenever that is available.

I would love a game based on this system with maybe 6 major European Power's, with a land and naval element and a PVP emphasis. It would be a incredible game. I have the game and I cannot understand it's low steam score, I guess because it is a challenging game.

I think they will cover Napoleonic Europe next. The game was way too difficult even on normal settings for most people, there are lack of tutorials and mechanics explanations in the game.

You can upgrade forts on the map, there are 3 tiers, but you can't build your own forts.
