Cool tutorial! I'm wondering though: Is there an easy way to make the lines go only one way? I mean so its not a wireframe but just lines from one side to the other with the same effects

Might be a late comment - but I tired the method, had to download the Octane version Blender. When I move the file into RENDERED View, I only get grey object with grey background. I do select OCTANE but it does not show me that All-White view that you get (at 10:07). I do not understand. Would be great if you could help out. Really do appreciate the tutorial. Thanks !

Sorry for the late reply. I had this issue with a lot of people now, I cant really remember how I kept fixing it because I never memorized it. This might not be as big of a help, but maybe try out the Octane forum. Im 1000% sure somebody has asked about this issue in the past.

You can try scaling the empty, that might help. I don't remember that good.

sick tutorial, altought i have two issues, one is that all of a sudden all the nodes vanished, still can see the materials thos, and second now the render all of a sudden is completely grey, is this a bug?
2 жыл бұрын
It might be a bug, have you started the correct version of Blender Octane?
@Igoreshkin2 жыл бұрын
From what I know, shade smoth option didn't work in Octane, thats why you have "Smooth" in material nodes.
2 жыл бұрын
That's completely correct!

This is great stuff for people learning Blender. However, I'm having a bit of an issue with mimicking your planet render in Cycles (without atmo). No matter what I do, my render has this certain way of starting to slightly wash out colors near the lit side starting with the strong shadowed crater on the right. In your Octane render you keep a good contrast and strong coloring despite the fact it's near the lit edge. I'm trying to mimic this in Cycles, but so far I'm very frustrated I can't get that finesse because it seems very very obvious to me. Is there any noticeable difference between Cycles and Octane in quality?
2 жыл бұрын
I think in this case it comes up to the Lighting behavior of the renderer. I’ve seen so many people try to recreate my octane scenes in cycles, and most of them have failed to do so. So I really think that it’s cycles lighting behavior that is failing you here.

Hello, thanks for the tutorial you are doing amazing jobs! I have a question for you I cannot find where we can turn off the visibility of the light in viewport/render but without turning off the light, it is possible in octane to render for blender?
2 жыл бұрын
So you basically want to hide the light in the viewport/render, but still have it illuminate objects and such?
@gioandrey71072 жыл бұрын
@ happens to me too, octane keeps rendering the object even when ticking off the camera visibility. I just want to keep the emission light and hide the object.
