I’ve been an implementation consultant since 2006! For the first time ever I feel like the jobs are getting sparse. Outsourcing is the biggest culprit. I used the think my job would be safe because I’m essentially working at an architect level but I’ve recently seen more of these jobs getting outsourced. I also think the increasing complexity of the platform is making it harder for mid-size companies to get any benefits from it. You basically have to get a developer to do any project in Salesforce. With most of those jobs outsourced to incompetent developers(who charge pennies on the dollar), it makes the onshore users extremely frustrated and burn out quicker. The writing is on the wall. Even if you continue to specialize, the job will eventually be replaced with someone/something cheaper. Hopefully I’m wrong but that’s not what I’m seeing.

Forget Salesforce, there's so many other products out there. Salesforce will always be a cult and highly overpriced.

I knew about Salesforce in 2010. A company I work at for a short period was using it and it was not very good back then. I wish I had decided to get into it back then but I didn’t start learning administration until 2022.

Hi, do I need to enable the Dev Hub as well? After enabling the source tracking, I refresh the sandbox but I'm still not able to add the sandbox in the pipeline, with error saying that i should enable the source tracking.

Salesforce complex he.. Using Ai right now it's not possible.. In Salesforce admin too much implementation part so everytime the things and scenario requirement change so how is it possible? Ai only helpful where like too much manual effort involved with same repetitive task...

Great analysis of the situation Ben. What caused me to really think this was a real deal explosion was the Devin demo. What caused me to very much cool my jets was the findings about the Devin demo. I am concerned about the timing of this trough of disillusionment. If it has ripple effects in the stock market timed along with our US elections it could have devastating effects. IT also will be yet another demonstration of the folly of business being motivated by valuing Shareholders above Stakeholders. It used to be said that the stock market is not the economy but I think that is not true anymore. If markets slow or correct, tech layoffs will occur. And likely the slowing of adoption of new products will occur which could even affect those in solid day to day admin jobs, not just consultants. Just my random thoughts. Thanks for bringing such thoughtful and researched content!

OMG, I have been working as a Data Analyst for 4 years and you just don't know how many admins are not setting up validation rules. Not having those rules set up and providing free-text is data cleaning from HELL for a data analyst. I am watching your video so that when I start helping small businesses setup their CRM it will have rules on top of rules
