Does the tuning problem have anything to do with that adjustable nut?
@espenfradrammen11 күн бұрын
🤷♂️ it was buildt in 1900. The frets are uneven so it needs to be refretted. The materials are great but the build quality a bit under par.

Haha that was great man. As a Tom Bukovac fan and an Espen fan (I first heard you on The Great Alkali Plains in the mid-2000s) - this was awesome. I still need to find a tab for The Immaculate Conception (that song still makes the hair stand up on my neck and arms). It needs WAY more attention than it has ever gotten - beyond beautiful.

@@espenfradrammen hello again Espen, hope you are well. I'm going to be making a video or two over the next couple of weeks in my free time, it will be of a spiritual/etheric and deeply meaningful nature, and I would really like to use some of your music as the soundtrack as I feel it's most suitable for my themes, if you would do me the honour of allowing this, I would clearly reference the sounds author(yourself) and any associated track names on screen in the video, and in the description. It is not for monetized purposes on my channel, although it may help your beautiful music reach an even broader audience. I think it's a collectively beneficial situation for musician, video creator and audience. There is no pressure if you object for any reason, but if it's ok, I'll use the high quality recording straight from my downloaded/purchased copy from bandcamp. Let me know in your own time. Peace and love.

Escape Velocity I am humbled that you would want to use my music in such a personal way and connect it to your own experience and path. However I will have to decline your request, and the reason is this; I am in a transitory stage on the path I am walking, and I would like to quote the tao te ching to underline what I mean; “whether you are going up the ladder or down the ladder, your position is shaky”. I am definatly making moves on the ladder at this moment, which means I have to be very careful about the decisions I make, and giving you a positive answer to this request is not in alignment with that care. I am sure you will be able to make your films work any which way you choose to put them together, and I wish you all the best down that path. 🙏🏼

To be the enemy of one with no enemies, is to be the enemy of oneself. Some say that my teaching is nonsense. Others call it lofty but impractical. But to those who have looked inside themselves, this nonsense makes perfect sense. And to those who put it into practice, this loftiness has roots that go deep. I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Simple in actions and in thoughts, you return to the source of being. Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. Compassionate toward yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world

Espen - I first heard you 10 years ago when I bought your album "On The Great Alkali Plains" - it's still one of my all-time favorite albums ever. It blew my mind the first time I heard it and to this day, it's still just as amazing - timeless. I've been trying to find some sort of tablature book with your songs, but there doesn't seem to be any. What tunings do you use for "The Immaculate Conception" and "Himmelsangen"? Also, this song is beautiful - love the way the tape delay makes your acoustic sound so ambient. Please, please, post more songs. People need to know who you are.
@espenfradrammen6 жыл бұрын
wayfaerer320 thank you for your kind words. I’m very happy that record has a life of it’s own now. I will be posting more songs to this channel, so please subscribe if you have’nt allready. The tunings you asked for are low to high d a d g c e for "Immaculate" (and move ahead - quickly, but with a capo in the second fret), and d a d g a d with capo in third for "Himmelsangen". There will be a tab book released next year, hopefully.

@@espenfradrammen Subscribed! And thank you for all the info, especially the tunings - you're a huge inspiration and influence on my acoustic playing style. Been listening to your work for years. Very much look forward to the tab book (I've actually been wanting one since the first time I heard your songs over a decade ago). Also, I forgot to ask, what is the tuning for this song, "Sjon"? And is there a studio recording of this song? Looking for more material of yours to listen to.
