As someone who is in 8th grade and just starting out while taking private lessons would it be better for me to buy this or rent one? 🤔

If you are going through the effort of private lessons, I'm assuming you'll stick with the hobby, so buying one would make sense. That being said, I wouldn't buy a very expensive horn, say $300 should be your *maximum* budget (or rather, max of your parents I assume). Buying used from say FB marketplace can save you a ton. But if this is a hobby you aren't sure about yet, renting may be the safer option :)
