Lmao. And as a Canadian, newborn or 90, walk in, get it done, and leave. Don't worry about payment unless it's something real out there or you needed an ambulance there. Which then is covered once you're a senior anyway.

Fuck this, I'm moving to a county with Universal Healthcare. The fact that we have a system that's like "hey, we know you're retired and on a fixed income for the last couple decades of your life, but we're going to charge you nearly $200 a month and you have to pay co pays, even though you by definition of retirement are not making money any more" is just spitting in the face of the American people.

Hello, you never mentioned that plan G is the guaranteed issue plan which will have higher yearly rate increases then compared to plan N. Would you still choose plan G anyway? My issue with plan N is that nobody can answer if “excess charges” will be an issue 5-20 years down the road whereas most will not be able to pass underwriting then to change to plan G. The correct choice is so important at 65 as I am 7 months out for Medicare.

Today 2024. No kudos, didn't watch your video. I have only 1 question I have UHC Plan N in California for both my wife and I for $294 per month. I'm moving to Phoenix AZ within 6 months. Where the same Plan N from UHC costs $226 per month. There are no state restrictions. Why doesn't anybody talk about the gorilla in the room. I can save $720 per year on the same plan, same company. Why and how can I get my cost reduced from the same company, same plan ? Am I just screwed ? Why isn't this topic ever discussed on your channel ?

I would completely agree. Plan G is world class coverage or close to it but expensive. If I couldn't afford the premiums or Plan N premiums, I'd pick High deductible G any day of the week as you retain so much consumer power vs. Advantage. High G deductible is unique and less scary as you gotta remember Part B is picking up 80 percent of that deductible on the way to it. High deductible G can still get you in to the best clinics and hospitals around the country.

Hey Tim, it seems you left out a few facts: that MA is a a private insurance health plan NOT run by US Govt at ALL!! Next, seems you left out the most egregious which is the 20% (minimum) DENIAL rate...this becomes the insanely profitable gig for insurers playing this crooked shell game. When you say it's cheapest if you when have no claims, I agree it's cheaper than regular medicare with 20% donut coverage, but why the hell have a plan that not's usable?! Think about that please people. CLEARLY, YOU WERE SENT BY THE INSURERS TO PIMP THEIR GARBAGE WARES FOR AMERICANS!! You SUCK like a TICK ON our SOCIETY!! Beware fellow Americans of this legal, for now, SCAM!!!!!

Two things he's not telling you: 1. Agent's, such as himself , receive higher commissions selling Advantage plans vs. Medigap (not that there's anything wrong with that but just something to consider). 2. He's not discussing the Golden Ticket entrance. Whats this? For most people turning 65, you get a ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY to enroll in a supplement plan a few months before your 65th birthday and a few months after, then you face underwriting. Whats heartbreaking is some people start with Advantage and develop a costly illness down the road and want to change to Medigap. Guess what? They are denied through underwriting then are stuck with Advantage for life. Stick with original Medicare and supplement. Your doctor decides your treatment plan. With Advantage, the insurance company decides. You retain much more power over your health care with a supplement plan such as G, N, or high deductible G.
@g0989
@g0989 8 ай бұрын
That may be true, especially for the initial enrollment year. But Advantage enrollees are much more likely to shop plans annually, as there is no underwriting, and given that Advantage plans can change from year to year, a lot of enrollees want to see if they can find a better plan each year. So more work for the agent. Those with original Medicare who get a Supplement, are more likely to stay with the same Supplement for life, since they are standardized, and aren't subject to change like Advantage plans. In fact, many may be stuck with whatever Supplement they originally chose, if they can't pass underwriting to get a different one (or different insurance company). So in a lot of those case, the agent signs them up, then can just ride the residual commissions in subsequent years, and not have to deal with that client anymore. Less initial commission, but less work for them down the road.

A good agent will represent both Medicare Advantage and Medicare supplement equally. Any advisor that tells you one is way better than the other, isn’t an advisor you should trust. There’s no one specific plan that’s best for everyone. Everybody has different needs, different budgets, and different situations. I answer everybody differently depending on their situation. I couldn’t care less making more or less. We get paid pretty much the same both ways:)

Just keep in mind, Advantage will always be there, but the supplement route may not since one faces underwriting in most states if they miss their initial enrollment period. Further, one can usually "shop down" meaning that if you start with Plan G, and later find the premiums are too high, you could switch to Plan N, or high-deductible G with no underwriting. Do the research, read the national news, look at the congressional hearings related to what's going on with Medicare Advantage. It's an eye opener. Google "San Diego hospitals and Medicare Advantage." Just remember, patients retain so much more control over their healthcare going the supplement route. Generally what this means is your doctor decides what care you need, not some employee at the insurance company who denies your care.

Good information; but with most Advantage plans you lose Original Medicare and are at the whims of an insurance carrier which usually has a network and requires prior approvals. Advantage plans are an annual contract with the client and the providers, as well as hospitals. Original Medicare has NO NETWORK is good countrywide and usually has NO prior authorizations. With original Medicare you MUST select a plan D drug plan otherwise you are penalized 1% per month for every month you do not have a part D coverage or creditable coverage.

Although I recently switched to an affordable F-Hd plan with another company, I'm grateful for my former Humama Advantage in Virginia which paid over 90% of Covid19 hospital and institutional rehabilitation costs, home rehabilitation and equipment costs, and the services from dozens of medical professionals during December 2020 through May 2021. For example, a statement of approx $400,000 between Jan and Feb 2021 for services rendered at UVA medical center...The only thing I was charged out of pocket was almost $2000 for consulting services that required no follow up procedures - for repeated visits by specialists who urged me to consider entering the national lung transplant waiting list if my condition didn't improve, which it did. Funny, I had to pay for the only thing I didn't want or need. But I have no reason to complain about that particular Humana Advantage plan I had from 2019-2022.

That was because it was Covid 19 related. There were a LOT of programs and incentives given to hospitals and businesses and likely insurance companies for those Covid days. Those perks are now disappearing one by one. Glad your insurance took care of you during that time.

Actually the biggest problem with Advantage plans is they deny a lot of needed treatments for patients. Some of these companies that sell Advantage plans are under investigation by congress. Advantage plans are great if you never have any serious health issues. Some doctors and major hospitals are dropping the advantage plans. And advantage plans can change every year so you have to check which changes were made or if any of your doctors dropped out of their network. This is why they offer so many extras.

High deductible plans are a waste of money. 96% of people with those plans NEVER make use of them. In other words they pay the premiums and also all of their medical expenses. As far as excess charges, those are very very rare these days. Most people would never run into them.
