What a cool recipe and video concept. Really enjoyed seeing the different scenes with this look. Thanks for putting this together! Maybe we can stay connected here as fellow fuji street photographers! Just subscribed so I can follow your channel.

Thank you Nick. I went to your channel to follow back and guess what - I am already a subscriber✌️I think it was around June last year, I did some research on that 27mm pancake lens, watched your review and subscribed. KZbin is an interesting place…

loved this! would you recommend this xc 15-45 lens for 350$ cheaper than the xf 18-55mm? how was your experience with it?
@TheOpticalBakery
@TheOpticalBakery 12 сағат бұрын
Great question. I don’t own the XF 18-55mm, but personally, I’d go with the XC 15-45mm. It’s smaller and lighter, which makes it a fantastic everyday carry lens. While the XF 18-55mm has better build quality and a wider aperture, I usually prioritize portability and prefer prime lenses when I want the best image quality. If portability matters to you and you’re okay with slightly slower aperture speeds, the XC 15-45mm is a great value, especially with that price difference.

Your videos are great and you really put a lot of work into them. I think it's a shame that it hasn't been discovered by the Fuji/Sony community yet. As a Fuji newbie, I still have one question. How do you port a photo simulation into a video simulation? Because not all settings are available.

I am learning by watching great videos. When shooting a video, the photo recipe adjustment items Grain Effect:, Color Chrome Effec, and Color Chrome FX Blue are not applied, so I am curious if you shoot without setting the above three items. 😍

Yes I believe X-H2s is pre-installed with all available film simulations, and you will get better video performance with high speed sensor. Enjoy shooting!

I'm a Fuji X100 (v6) newbie who has bought a proper camera again after many years. Having dived into the subject a bit, I'm wondering if I'm the only one who doesn't understand why Fuji doesn't generate an easy to use exchange format for the ‘recipes’ that you can drag and drop via the Fuji app to save to C1-C7 without having to programme everything by hand? That would be a USP for Fuji for the USP (film simulations). This is also familiar from other digital worlds. Surely it can't be that difficult to create an exchange format that can then be downloaded from Fuji X Weekly, for example, and immediately transferred to the camera? Or am I seeing this wrong?

I think what you described is similar to real time lut on Sony and LUMIX cameras, and I agree with you - if Fuji allow us to “sync” recipes that would make this process much easier. But sometimes I do feel the need to adjust color shift and tone curves, after having them programmed, to adapt various lighting conditions. I use real time lut on my LUMIX S9 through LUMIX Lab App, it’s very convenient (and they allow 39 luts…!). I don’t mind manually programming everything on Fuji, just wish they could give us more than 7 options.

I prefer Kodak Gold 200 over the V2 as well (same with the Portra recipes actually). I use it quite a lot! I especially love it in combination with the Glimmerglass filter which gives it even more character without being overpowering. Do you use mist filters? I do feel like there is some halation in your footage, but in a nice way.
@TheOpticalBakery
@TheOpticalBakery 15 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes I use diffusion filters. Movie mode doesn’t have grain effect so I use diffusion filters to add some film look. And I’m not giving up on the Gold v2 completely. I remember Ritchie posted a sample picture of a little girl in a pink ish jacket, I really like the color rendering on that picture - guess Gold 200 would make that color too vibrant. Maybe next time I should try V2 in a colorful environment and see how it goes.

Please make a video to teach how you set up your Fuji to capture these smooth footages. I just bought an X-S20 and the focus on video mode is just all over the places. Also I underestimated the 15-45mm, I thought it's just a beginner cheap kit lens that can't produce good quality image/video until I saw your channel haha.
