I have been looking on KZbin already a bit but it's hard to find clear video like this. I am very curious about this process since it seems to me that, under certain conditions, the output of combustible materials could be cheaper than derived from fossil sources. If so , then it's a shame no more research is been done on what biomass works easiest for say gasoline or methanol etc;..I think if household waste is the biomass source, high temperatures will be best to break a very heterogenic mixture into simple building blocks but if we could start from only a pure, dry and simple biomass like peanut hulls, then I think the temperature could be much lower which is better energy wise.

Modern technology can be used to farm methane with your kitchen waste and lawn waste in two one cubic meter plastic containers. You can compress those methane fully automated into a light-weight, installable propane tanks for charging your Aptera in the backyard 7/24. If you don't use them to charge your Aptera, you can use them to cook your food or warm your house as well. All kitchen waste will become fertilizers eventually, which you can sell/donate to vertical/roof-top organic farms around metropolitans.

When it's turned off, I presume the sand all falls downward through the grate. And this isn't a problem? Is it all pushed up through the grate holes again, and into the main chamber, when the machine is turned back on?

Thanks a lot for your lecture series on Biomass gasification. Your step-wise introduction to a complex topic is very much appreciated. I wonder if we can download the notes part of your lecture series. This would be a great source of material to review and revisit for a basic understanding of the gasification process. Many thanks for your feedback.

Pyrolysis is spun by those who have a self interest on it become social accepted. The process has some many inherent problems which can and will. lead to catastrophic environmental damage. Many system were shut down permanently because they released dioxins when small mistakes snowballed in a short timeframe. The releases of liquids from the process also causes huge environmental and human health problems . Don’t believe the sugar coated spin they are spouting for if things go wrong they’ll walk away with the cash and leave communities ,people and the environment with the long term damage.
