It is remarkable to hear that level of cutting precision coming out of such a young person. This is when you realize that true genius and natural talent (as established by thousands of hours of excited participation) truly comes in all areas, and in all shapes and sizes.

I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 85K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% per year in dividend returns. Any advice?
@EmmelineMathilda25 күн бұрын
Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience.If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert.

The issue is people have the "I want to do it myself mentality" but not equipped enough for a crash, hence get burnt. Ideally, advisors are reps for investing jobs, and at first-hand encounter, my portfolio has yielded over 300% since 2020 just after the pandemic to date.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for...

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

Is an etf the same as just index fund, or are they two completely separate things???
@ItsDarthTrader2 ай бұрын
Separate. ETFs trade like stocks on exchanges with fluctuating prices throughout the day, while index funds are mutual funds that are bought and sold at the end-of-day net asset value (NAV).
@henrys4282 ай бұрын
@@ItsDarthTrader So, on Vanguard, I see only the option to invest in an S&P 500 ETF. So, which is better? Index fund or ETF Or, which has the less risk? Sounds to me like Index is better than ETF in that you know what the shares are when you sell them, since they are sold at the end of the day Whereas, ETFs, you could sell your shares, but while selling, the value could decline? Am I right in that?

Munger and Buffett have both achieved an incredible feat with Berkshire. They've turned thousands to billions, and have made a lot of people wealthy in the process. I really saw the potential of the stock market by reading Berkshire's annual letters. I recently sold my $674k apartment in the Bel Air area and I'm hoping to throw it into the stock market. I just don't want to lose everything.

It's technically called "Darshan" (Divine Transmission) and it happens because the individual who transmits is in a state of deep proximity to God or what would be called Source energy. It is one of the reasons people go to these teachers because it validates and accelerates what is being taught. The teachings are not just in the precepts or practices but in the energy and vibration of the transmission itself. This is why you can come in a room with them and feel like you've been on retreat for a month because the vibration lifts your own state of consciousness powerfully . (temporarily) I have had this experience with many Gurus at this level and once with a Buddhist Rimpoche who had the ability to transmit. For two hours my mind was a still as a pond on a windless day. I saw Amaji, the hugging Guru, who was in her early 60's at the time, and she was so powerful and had so much to draw upon, for 3 days she spent at least 6-8 hours each day hugging thousands of people, transmitting this contact though the hug, and did not get exhausted. then went to another city and did it again. Regular human charisma is similar but usually way stepped down. So I think it was Pete Townshend who said when he saw Hendrix on stage it was like being with a God but when he stepped down off stage he was just this ordinary guy so when playing, he was tapping into something extraordinary. That is the gift of genius. We now live in a time when ordinary people can do this transmission. Sam can't really contextualize it fully because he still has resistance and is drawn to more dry and removed forms of spiritual practice that are distinctly non theist which is ok because no way is better than another and he is being very open and honest. This is why the demand for "intellectual proof" of higher order consciousness is bankrupt because there are frequencies beyond the intellect and not explainable that exist. Usually one has to have some mystical encounter, some experience that validates the "there, there". This is why psychedelics were so instrumental back in the day. One knew authentically there were levels of consciousness WAY beyond the conventional. Meditation over time opens one up. That's why Huxley called it the "doors of perception".
