Those plotholes are worth it for how the extended scenes ruin the pace and spirit of the movie. The mental hospital doesnt need evil staff. Just a get who takes a perverted abd violating lick on sarah conners face is enough because its about how naive and complacent the world was abput the dangers of the future not about how we suck so bad that maybe the robots should kill us all. And T2 having the chip removed and altered took away the spiritual aspect of t2 learning about humanity somewhat which was kind of one of the major pointa of the movie and sarah conner wanting to destroy him at that moment made little sense. The makeout dream was not needed bevauae sarah conner is about the future not the past. One of the only times i saw an extended release where i was glad they cut out all the extra scenes for the theatrical release. Also if you have two moms and one tells you to get out of the way and you scream "shoot!" as you dive to the side to preserve your life in a tate of hysteria then no furrher explanation is needed as far as i am concerned.

It was cut due to how machines actually work as if this type of machine was messing up it would start to mess up everywhere as it's all together just one machine. So, this touching things and malfunctioning simply wouldn't happen as it's all just one machine that can imitate life working together as one. You see this machine is capable of going through the time machine meaning it is alive as nothing dead can go through the time machine.

The plot hole that's NOT explained in any edition is when John is running away, the T-1000 is casually walking down the stairs. Even when John is on his bike trying to start it, the T-1000 continues to casually walk. He doesn't start to run until the bike starts. His entire programming is to kill John as quickly and efficiently as possible. Why would he walk as John is running? Because if he ran too he would catch John, kill him, and the movie would be over.

I only seen the original theatrical release twice. Once at the movies and the other when it first came out on VHS. The other 15 times or so, the extended edition which has the deleted scenes. So I forgot the original did not have those scenes.

I can undersrand why other shots where cut but those 3 shots should of been in the theatrical release, they add like less than a minute to the film.

The plot hole in T2 is that T-1000 should have killed Sarah Connor (like he did to all his victims before he killed them), but he let her lived. It was never explained why he spared her life in the movie.

The 'malfunction' was caused by the heat of being inside an operational steel mill, that's why it was doing that, melting and overprocessing.

it's not a plot hole. The extended edition makes it even worse... when the T-1000 would have had the gun he would have just shot John, only his mother would do what she did. And it make the movie worse because of your explanation: why would the T-1000 even touch the railing? ... that's idiotic. Do you know how the T-800 found out tht the T-1000 was at John's fonterparnts house? He fooled him with the barking dog using a wrong name which the T-1000 would not know, but in extented edition they explained it, they just showed how the T-1000 kills the dog to get its collar and to read the real name... wtf is this? for what? most people understand the scene without such additional bullshit, so no plotholes at all... if you need a plothole just ask yourself: did the T-800 buy the box of roses before entering the Galeria to hide the shotgun in the box?

BIGGEST PLOT HOLE: at the end the T- 800 says to Sarah that there is one more chip (inside his head) and it must be destroyed also so that no trace of Skynet or the terminators is left behind in the past for someone to come along and use the technology to begin the Judgement Day event again…. But at no point does it show any of them going back to the mechanical cog the T- 1000 crushed the T- 800’s left arm in and throwing that into the smelter as well. Nore did the T- 800 tell Sarah or John about the smashed arm and where to find it since they were elsewhere and didn’t see what happened. Effectively leaving the Skynet time loop open to continue.

This isn't a plot hole in the movie. John knew his mother would not have called out to him while he was supposed to be hiding and if it was the T1000 it would have shot him not told him to get out of the way. The scene required cognitive thought, I know that can be difficult for some.

What you described isnt a plot hole. It could just as easily be explained that John simply made a decision in the moment because it didnt feel right. That goes with the theme of machines not understanding how humans really think and something about the imitation was off that tipped John to it being the terminator. An actual plot hole would be something like "how was the t-1000 able to time travel when it wasnt encased in human tissue" because the films themselves establish only living tissue can travel through time. Though im sure this was also probably explained in deleted scenes somwwhere.

One is holding a literal hand cannon but doesn’t shoot John with it - instead she asks him to step out of her line of fire so she can shoot the other Sarah - that isn’t holding a hand cannon. Its not rocket surgery to guess who’s who in this situation. If the real Sarah was the imposter - John would already be dead.
