I didn't know the Phoenix Pre's were actually 1073 Clones. I don't think they are closely modelled after a 1073 like a lot of the other one's out there, like say a BAE, AMS, or GA even etc. I think they say they are Class A like the 1073, and other British Preamps. They are also electronically transformerless balanced inputs, and I'm quite sure they are a unique design, veering quite far from a 1073, but still give you a fat saturated british type vibe if you want it type thing.

Ya, not a clone. Transformer output and a nice thick tone though.

Thank you for sharing, I have a question for you. What is your preference of guitar output for working in studio. Do you prefer low out put single coil? or hotter output single coil with more body to the tone? I have heard that low output has larger dynamic range but at the same time I also heard that sometimes the tone does not have enough thickness or body to fulfilled the track. Also when I work with studio they prefer hotter output so it add more weight to the song. What is your preference?

Glad I happened across your video. I was looking for a good tune to work on and...well... :0) I forgot that "This Masquerade" was in the New Real Book. I've always thought this tune by Leon Russell was great. Thanks for the reminder. I'll not be attempting George Benson's version... but it's worth a listen just for some inspiration. Thanks again!

I wish more time was spent looking at the art in the exhibition. Yes, it is nice to hear the show's concept and the color used to enhance the art space, but the art being displayed is the most important.
