Hi. I bought this book from an online Chinese bookstore in Shopee PH app. Not sure if there are still other stores that sells the Chinese editions of Sketching Times as these are very old books. You may try searching online. There's also an English edition of Sketching Times by Basheer Graphic Books that you can check (www.abebooks.com/9789810983376/Sketching-Times-Inspiration-Artists-Sketch-9810983379/plp). I believe there are 2 editions that have been released.

Gorgeous cover. Sadly, I think I'm going to skip this year's edition. Feels like it's 90% just cute anime girls with big eyes, I'm missing the more atmospheric, darker stuff from previous years. 2024 was amazing in this way. Thanks for the video!

My rating for this artbook: 7/10 The artbook’s build is top-notch. With a whopping 208 pages and a sleek hardcover, it’s perfect for displaying on any shelf. Atsushi Ohkubo’s art is rough yet stylish, with a great balance of thick and thin lines. However, the coloring feels a bit flat to me, lacking in detail-but that’s just part of Ohkubo’s signature style. Overall, it’s a solid pick for shonen fans. If you already own the first two Soul Eater artbooks, you might want to pass, as this one mostly compiles those works with only a few new pieces added.

My rating for this artbook: 7/10 Honest Review: I share the same sentiments as this customer review here: amzn.to/3z6iIRh. Like them, I was initially drawn to the cover of this artbook, but the contents weren't what I expected. A significant portion of the pages is dedicated to concept art and character studies. Personally, I prefer artbooks that focus more on full illustrations and pin-ups, but that's just my preference. Overall, I still think this is a nice artbook to have, and I'm sure those who appreciate concept art will find it interesting. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this artbook! Feel free to share your opinions in the comments below ^_^

I've got a question not neccesarily related to the content but more to this type of videos. I was thinking in starting a youtube channel doing flipthrough videos of some artbooks I own, Is it a copyright infringement to do it? I mean have you ever received a copyright claim from any of your flipthrough videos?

This channel was inspired from other artbook review channels like Parka Blogs, Halcyon Realms, etc., so I think the niche of artbook reviews is fine. Also, for as long as your intent is solely for reviewing artbooks it should be okay. Another purpose of artbook flipthrough channels like this is for others to see if an artbook is worth buying or not. I've received a copyright claim on a video but that was long before, on which I don't even know the reason why I received it in the first place as I created the video myself. But other than that I haven't received any claim and it's been going well ever since ^_^

@@rafaelns84 I believe I only have 2 Korean artbooks featured so far: this one (Oxide 2X) which was bought from a local hobby shop, and the other one (Korean Illustration), was ordered in Japan via proxy if I remember correctly. As for my Chinese artbooks, I got most of them from a Chinese bookstore in Shopee PH app. I know that ordering Chinese artbooks is indeed challenging due to its scarcity in mainstream online shopping sites, and I think the only way to order them now is via proxies. Also I just saw this site recently: comicup.booth.pm. They have a number of artbooks that feature works from Chinese illustrators. You might find it worth checking ^_^

hello! i am new to your channel, but i am familiar with your posts on the artbook collectors subreddit (i think?)! how many books do you have in your collection? what are your favorites? i have been collecting artbooks since i was 13, but i am only 22, so i dont have as many as i would like haha. i have a collection of maybe 70-80 artbooks! do you exclusively tend to collect works from japanese artists? recently, i have begun ordering some artbooks from chinese artists via a proxy service for taobao. i also collect artbooks from western artists (both museum-grade ones of classical art or newer, lesser known independent ones, like from 3d total publishing). thank you for this flip through!
