Kind of a meme category but this is genuinely insane lol. Obviously movement could be better but like... no one will ever get a sideboost that good ever again lmaoo. Even if someone has perfect movement up until sideboost, that sideboost was so perfect it nullifies everything else. Imagine sideboost from tutorial pond was possible lol. If that was possible, that's the only thing that would kill this time. Edit: this comment aged so poorly lol, I do genuinely think this sideboost (in terms of sideboosts that go through the air) is perfect tho lol.

This game changes a lot since it's new so here are the *new things found/implemented after this video came out that you should maybe implement:* Some things are things that everyone should implement, no matter of your skill level, and some things are not lol. (idk where else to put this so ig I'll just put this here and hope future ppl see it. Mainly making this cause of form's tourney so I'm expecting a boost in views on this video lol.) 04:44 Tutorial Small thing at the very very beginning of the run that you probably shouldn't implement until you get maybe a sub 4: you can grab the hook on the right here and swing up directly to the fish and you can grab the bait to redirect your speed toward the fish. Hard to explain but if you see the current 10 fish wr then you'll see it being done, you need to grab the hook as late as possible because hitting the ground while swinging gives you a crazy speed boost. The fastest I've caught the first fish *without* the tutorial swing is a low 15.x (maybe 14.x is possible idk) but with a decent swing, you should be seeing 15.x WAYYY more often. The lowest I've seen with the tutorial swing is a low 13.x I think? 04:54 Tutorial When grabbing any fish in water, it's fastest to aim your bait directly on top of the fish, then as long as you're behind them when reeling them out of the water, they'll launch towards where you want them to. btw, right when you hear the fish bite sound, you can reel the fish out of the water. 05:03 Tutorial Really really small thing but you can groundpound and walljump on the right wall to save like less than a second for not that much effort lol. (Watch the 10 fish wr) 08:38 Slide Fort Maybe it's just me but this is wayyy harder than the strat at 9:17 lol. With the 9:17 strat I go up the front slope instead of the right slope to grab the fish as close to the pillar as possible (hold left when going up the slope) also I don't think where you groundpound on the slope at 9:24 is too important tbh, maybe it's best to groundpound where carrot shows but as long as you jump right when you hit the sand and control your speed well after that, I think it works most of the time. 19:33 Pond Tower Even for beginners, I'd highly recommend skyeboost. I slow my speed down before hitting the lilypad to both get a smaller boost and to also get the launch closer to where the fish is. I also only do two full jumps on the water before leaving everything neutral. 13:58 Fling Course Don't do what I did in my 3:25 with the super+coyote to the second fish (that only saves like one or two seconds at most lol), do this instead: there's one new trick with fling course that can save a bunch of time for free pretty much. At 13:58, right before entering fling course when you're on your shredder, you can just start spamming jump to keep your deathwarp point at the start of fling course. After this you can do fling course as normal but just try to stay off the ground as much as possible. Then after you catch the 2nd fling course fish die and if you did it right you'll spawn at the beginning of fling course, skipping a bunch of travelling on a shredder. This saves like at least 3 seconds compared to what I did in wr, and like 5 seconds (im guessing) compared to what carrot does in this vid. 16:15 Bounce Course Right at the beginning I'll hold down for a second after the super to completely clear the platform, skipping the ledgegrab and sometimes just launching you all the way to the fish. 16:33 Bounce Course When getting the last fish, you can hit the fish, warp, then as the screen fades to black you can catch the fish and press escape once and it saves ~1.5 seconds compared to just catching them normally and warping. 17:25 Bounce Course With this pot clip, you don't always get the jump out through the wall. Sometimes you just fall straight through the ground as if it's not there. When that happens, you can sometimes coyote out of it onto the sand (attack to cancel the spin). If you get in the state where you're just jittering between the two pots, I wiggle my camera left and right to clip through the wall faster, then I coyote after that. Jumping is the fastest method though if you can get it. Longest comment I have ever seen.

tysm for adding this, i agree with everything jaspev says. a lot of this stuff was out of date after i had finished making the video, some stuff even between the script writing and editing process. additionally, i'd like to add that learning how to coyote will help a lot for your future in speedrunning this game. how to perform: coyote jumps work by preserving the jump you would have when standing on ground. if you were to fall off of a platform without jumping beforehand, your jump would still be accessible by performing a spin midair, and hitting a/space/jump when the spin occurs. this is also applicable for the alternate strat for the pillar fish at slide fort. because you slide into the bump in the ground and never jump, you are able to perform a coyote spin to get the extra height you may need. one thing to note is that the coyote spins are only able to be done after the peak of your height - only when you are falling down, not ascending in the air. of course, if you are having any trouble, it's a great idea to join the discord and ask! there are very nice people in there who love to help people learn new things about the run/game!
