According to my own experiences. I bought one in may this year after i owned different bikes inkl zzr1400. This bikes gives me the best wind protection so far than any other bikes i had. The weather in southern Sweden is windy and often below 0 degrees wintertime. I've been riding last weekend when it was -3C to the job and back home, all in all 30 minutes. Felt like the mirrors lead away the air from my fists, up with the windshield and i felt pretty comfortable, winter gear on ofcourse. However, i wouldn't ride more than 30 minutes as it would be ultimately painful, and the grip is much worse than summer times. Riding short distances and being extra careful will work for me.

Roads in the united states are too rough to ride like that.even though we're taxed to death for infrastructure and things like that.The money is there but where it goes is anybody's guess because the roads never improve and it makes riding a motorcycle on them a miserable experience.

Hoihoi, do you have much maintenance/reliability issues with the GTR? I do love the look of it and all, but the garage where I take my bikes, XTZ1200 Super Tenere and FJR1300 told me, that the bike is nice up to about 40 000miles/60 000km and after that it becomes a real pain in the ass as the sensors starts to play up, and how it eats its undersized brake discs etc... Your experience? Thank you!;))
@herkko612 жыл бұрын
Almost zero reliability list. Just oil, filters, tires, brake pads. I've ridden now 120 000 km with my gtr and totally happy.

@@herkko61 Thank you for taking your time! This sounds promising! I hope you'll have the same experience after the next 120k! I wonder what happened with the others that made the mechanics say the cautioning words.

Were all confident till it happens, and it will. 2 kinds of riders out there. Those that have wreaked... Those who will..... It happens to us all, eventually. My first one was a trash can lid at 130mph. Never saw it, woke up in ER. It slowed me down some but its so addictive, I just got to go fast..... I slid down I-90 one night after hitting a coon for so long I had to switch azz checks,the heat was to much. I ended up in a fence but I was unconscious by then. 9x I've been down, I've done it so many times I no long try to get up or put my palms down to slow the slide, I just ball up and pray "not today lord, please not today.".......

I've had some bad ones that could have ended up with me being worm food. The part of my helmet that covers my chin was ground down so I know i was unconscious sliding on my chin for a bit. Don't want to think about it I hadn't had a full face helmet. I think the front end locked up and it threw me down face first knocking me out then sliding and tumbling for a bit. Woke up on my back a few yards away from a good drop off. You kinda just sit there not wanting to move and feel something broken. My buddy saw my headlight go down on n his rear view mirror. I was lying there full of adrenaline shaking standing up slowly taking a damage report. Other than some minor abrasions from not wearing a proper jacket I was just beat up and sore. Nothing broken but my helmet was torn up taking the damage instead of my skull. After a while i took that helmet and slid it on some asphalt and all I could do was scratch it up a little. Looking at the worn ground down area on the chin guard from my crash I had to have hit the asphalt hard and ground down the helmet from sliding a good distance. I could not come close to grinding that helmet myself compared to the crash damage. It had to have been one hell of a slide to do so much damage. I don't ever ride without a full face helmet. If I hadn't worn one that day it would have been a really bad day. So later that day after I'm bruised and beat up I managed to drive myself to see my daughter dance in a Christmas performance at a nearby mall. On my way back home I get pulled over for driving with a suspended license get my car towed and big ticket on the same day I crashed my bike. That was not a good day but at least I got to see my daughter and see her dance so it was a good day looking back. Nothing was going to stop me from seeing my daughter.

One of the best all round bikes ever.. I don't care if the Busa is faster, faster doesn't always mean better and it is the Bird that started the speedwars off, the Bird is better looking, great for touring, with. Bullet proof engine..
@jasperbarlow2582 Жыл бұрын
Not to mention the silky smooth engine, if i,m planning a long trip i leave the busa in the garage and jump on the bird. Absolutely nothing wrong with the busa though i may add.
@snakeman9902 Жыл бұрын
@@jasperbarlow2582 Absolutely, I'm not a fan of the 1st or 2nd generation Busa, but like the 3rd gen.. This is purely my opinion and taste only, I find the Busa a little short for me, with a very aggressive riding form..
@jasperbarlow2582 Жыл бұрын
Snakeman, totally agree, the busa was agressively stanced, the blackbird had lower footpegs allowing for the taller bloke like myself more comfort on longer journeys. I really recommend the old zzr-1100 when it comes to comfort though, those things, old or not, were still ballistic missiles, i have owned four of them and comfort was never an issue.
@snakeman9902 Жыл бұрын
@@jasperbarlow2582 I taller bloke like me too.. 👍👍. Well, I own the modern bike for that particular model, the zzr1400, I find this to be the best bike I've ever owned.. Before I got this bike, the bird was, in my humble opinion.. Even with the zzr1400, I made some adjustments.. Raised handle bars, lowered footpegs.. Its a bugger on juice, but a beaut to ride and has awsome looks..

ZZR-1400 IS CERTAINLY SPECIAL, i have yet to own one, admittedly being a kawasaki man from a very young age, zzr,s, gpz,s zx10s etc etc, there is just something about them that oozes soul, the intake growl of the first production bikes to utilise ram-air induction, absolute japanese legends.@@snakeman9902
