I bought mine in 2008 and it has served as my countryhouse amp the last 10 years and I have nothing bad to say about it. It's a great powerfull receiver.

Optonica Receivers! They were great performers in a very competitive market and came late to the party. However, they are being recognized today as worthy competitors of the major players in the late 70's, and are holding up today as great audio equipment. The products were stylish and well built. Quality always wins and Optonica will be there in the end!

@@michaelcerza871 Yes friend, Optonica arrived late after Marantz, Sansui, Pioneer and others. They are technically better constructed and use better construction components, they are operational after almost 50 years.

Hello Carlos, would you recommend this amp? I am looking for a reference amp y pretty flat respond and very natural sound. I play mostly acooustic music with a lot of dynamics. Compared to other professional o hifi amps would you say this is a decent amp soundwise? And would you recommend it as a main amp? Thanks a lot

Good evening, my friend, I would say that it's not just the amp that impacts a flat and natural quality, it's a set of factors, it depends a lot on what you use (preamp and speakers). This Sony in this case is very natural, but the speakers gave it a little extra shine in definition. Also look for Yamaha's A100-a and the more powerful ones (P2200 or PC2602m) too, they tend to be very flat, I hope this helped. Hugs.

I bought a Sansui 9090 when they first came out. It weighed about 55 pounds. The salesman told me, "This will last you a lifetime." Well, burglars stole it two years later. And by that time, the digital age was beginning. Now, my smartphone and wifi speakers do everything the 9090 did, easier and better. (And lighter.)

OMG, the sansui 517 is the most overrated amplifier that I ever had. This amplifier doesn't sound natural in any way. In the end, I just sold it I couldn't hear it anymore 😕

안녕하세요 DSP A1을 소유중인 한국 유저입니다. 이번에 구매한 것까지 총 2대 보유중입니다. 정말 소리가 좋은 앰프입니다. 첫번째 앰프는 좌우 바란스를 고치다 터트리고 그 소리를 잊지 못해 찾아다니다, 최근 중고장터에서 후면 단자 보호캡과 리모컨까지 있는 특A급 매물을 찾아 기분이 좋네요. 집에 가서 연결하면 그때 그 소리를 다시 들려주겠지요? 지금 저는 군대에 있어 휴가가 너무나도 기다려집니다. 얼른 나가서 들으러 가야겠어요.

I don't make any TV (image) connections there, now if for TV audio, use any of the available RCA inputs, for example the Auxiliary input.

It could be an 8 ohm bookshelf box, with a soft cone, here I used the Jamo ones, very good for him.
