Mancos shale is the slickest slimiest clay in the world, I think. It won't absorb water, so your feet stick to it after a rain... you walk around carrying an inch of mud on the bottom of your shoe.

I know nothing about oil drilling. Why cant they capture the natural gas?
@Our__Earth8 күн бұрын
Hello ! I'm no expert but we teach this in energy units in physical geography and geology courses: Natural Gas Flaring may be required because the company doesn't have a license to transport the natural gas, OR it is too far from a processing plant OR for safety reasons. In this area where I filmed the video (Bakken Field, North Dakota) I am sure it is the latter reason: Extracting and processing oil and gas involves dealing with exceptionally high, and changeable, pressures. During crude oil extraction, a sudden or dramatic increase in pressure could cause an explosion. I know it looks bad with atmospheric and climate implications to be doing this; fortunately the amount of flaring in the Bakken Field at least is small and contributes a smaller amount of CO2 than much more common activities such as creating cement. And the amount of flaring is decreasing each year. I hope this helps.

NEMA 5-15 plugs and sockets are rated for 125 Volts and are not fingerproof. If you connect these to 230 Volts and someone gets killed, you’ll end up in jail and rightfully so! So please do yourself a favor and don’t bring US plugs to the rest of the world.

From your experience are their any map related activities or places in San Diego that are interesting to visit alongside the conference activities?
@Our__Earth7 күн бұрын
Michael - my favorite places are - Point Loma, and Coronado Beach. I actually never get there during the UC as I am so busy there but if you tacked on a few hours at the end of the conference, or spent an evening out there, that would be amazing. Field work!

Hi Joseph! Great tips. I think Ken has been to the UC at least 25 times. He’ll be there again this year… with Scott! Scott attended his first conference when he was 5 months old… and he’s now, wait for it… 21!! I’m hoping the Rukstales crew will run into you at the conference. (Scott remembers you from Devinny.) Don’t forget the sunscreen for when you take a break out in the sun to eat your lunch. I wish I could be there. Cheers!

I fully Agree with you Monday is the most important day in esri uc Expo is a must I will also add -Try to prioritize your interested sessions , there are hundreds, you should select the most important to you -don't attend the recorded technical (or live) workshops, you can watch them later. -There are around 8 summits during the conference, unfortunately these summits will not be recorded, I prefer attending these summits, I highly recommend at least two summits: 1 - Spatial Analytics Summit (July 16, 2024 | 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.) this is the second year 2 - AI Summit (July 17, 2024 | 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.) this is the First year I made 2 hours video about tips and tricks for attending esri uc this year but is it is Arabic kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4u2i6SGbruBo5Isi=ljql3O2WiAiNo3Zv

@Our__Earth5 күн бұрын
@@phuocpham3446 Spatial Analytics -- do you mean the tech workshops? They cover quite a few analysis tools and are scattered throughout the Tuesday through Friday sessions at the UC - they are most often held in the big rooms upstairs at the San Diego Convention Center. Email me if this is not what you are seeking.
