Ah, slight correction: vintage story is *not* a modpack, but instead a standalone game with it’s own story and lore! Wholeheartedly recommend it though. It really feels like the most natural step up from Minecraft into something more grounded and realistic.
@WillShackAttack11 сағат бұрын
If you want to try Vintage Story it's actually a standalone game that evolved from a mod the same devs used to make.
@kepler-62f23 сағат бұрын
I now understand what the Vintage Story devs meant when they said they could do more of this by making their own game rather than modding Minecraft lol (Vintage Story is made by Vintagecraft devs but inspired by TFC). Because Vintage Story has the same mechanics but implemented better. No hate to this modpack, I've just always found realistic Minecraft mods kind of weird and after playing Vintage Story it's like extra weird seeing Minecraft mods try to do the same thing (even though some of them came before Vintage Story).

try gregtech next. a good entry level gregtech pack is either GregTech: Community Pack Modern (CEu) or Nomifactory CEu. or, if you hate yourself, go straight for New Horizons, or even supersymmetry even though its in early alpha

New horizons has to be like animal crossing right?
@leedleytКүн бұрын
I’m kidding, I’ll check Gregtech out soon, I’ll see what curseforge has and what tickles my fancy
@quinnb9867Күн бұрын
@@leedleyt Nice! Community Pack Modern is probably the easiest to learn gregtech with, since it is very lightweight and built on 1.20. Nomifactory CEu is more fun imo, even though I havent gotten as far in that pack as CEu Modern. There is also a new Nomifactory port to CEu Modern called Monifactory, although I havent looked into it yet. If you don't know anything about Gregtech, I would highly recommend against New Horizons. Although you can learn GregTech that way because of its really good questbook, it is an extremely long and hardcore pack that has tons of mods. Honestly Supersymmetry would probably be really fun, but I'm pretty sure the questbook expects you to have some knowledge of Gregtech prior to playing. Its also still in early development and basically doesnt have any content past EV afaik. They are also reworking the primitive age in that pack still so I'm not sure how polished the early game is. All of that being said, choose what you think you will have fun with, and dont hesitate to switch packs or restart if you get stuck or arent having fun. I am excited to see another person inducted into the Gregification. Edit: one more thing... if you somehow think you would enjoy this there is a modpack called terrafirmagreg which combines TFC and Gregtech. Please dont play that pack as your first introduction to gregtech though. it is extremely difficult.

Quick tip on supports. Only horizontal pieces count, corner pieces and vertical pieces do not count, they don't support anything. Each horizontal piece covers a 4x4x3 area, so if you make thr supports 3 tall the bottom layer of your mineshaft won't be covered actually. So to be totally safe, you should put a horizontal support between two verticals on the floor as well. You have to right click on the supports already there. If you click on the ground it'll only make a third pillar ehich doesn't help. You can remove these later but remember to put them back if you mine near them
@leedleyt2 күн бұрын
Wow! So you make a square out of the supports? That’s amazing
@Balazs1102_Күн бұрын
@@leedleyt well you can, but not really. All I'm saying is that horizontal supports have a 4x4x3 area of effect. Also keep in mind that cave-ins can spread to supported areas as well. Supports only prevent the cave-ins from being triggered. So if a cave-in happens in an unsupported area, there is a chance it will spread to supported areas.

I love bushcrafting and watching bushcraft, and this series is the perfect combo of both. It's exactly what I've been looking for in MC. Went to college for social media and marketing and I've tried recording stuff myself, but I can just never convince myself to commit to it. People often don't understand the amount of work that goes into recording and editing any type of game content, let alone complex Minecraft content with milestones and objectives. My only suggestion is probably to drop the AI thumbnails. Hoping your stuff takes off, you deserve it 🙏

@leedleyt2 күн бұрын
If you dig straight down it doesn’t cave in, and then if you place supports when you hit the ore, you can kinda tunnel out from there. Best advice is to dig down a 3 wide hole (3x1) and then use the hole to place the support
