Great version, but my vote still goes to Graham Parsons, the only one who keeps the emotion and pathos, yet somehow doesn't let it drag, not to mention the beautiful inventive work of the Flying B. Brothers in the background.

Of all the recorded versions of this song,I like Percy Sledge's best.I was also kind of stunned to learn that this guy wrote probably the first girl power song that I ever heard,Aretha Franklin's Do Right Woman in the mid 60's.

How does this rhyme, 'cause every time I see you Well, I could swear, must've met you somewhere Down under lock and key There's a brain-tag to every secret If I could keep my mouth shut There's a chance that I might even keep it You feel familiar and I wanna feel some more Have I ever laid my hands on you before? This must sound weird, it's like you peered inside me 'Cause every time you recognize my state of mind Down under lock and key We put a brain-tag to every secret Now comes a time to figure out Whether we should keep it You feel familiar and I wanna feel some more Have I ever laid my hands on you before? Total freedom beneath the waves Floating through the arcane caves Synchronized in time and space Leaving all desire behind

Spoiler, at 4:51 Peter opens the lid to the Ark of the Covenant. I'll never forget the first time I saw them in San Francisco, during the "Brain Tag" coda he did the Cobain thing where you roll up on your shoulderblades with your sneakers pointing skyward so that you're playing guitar upside down. I had my whole band there that night because I wanted to show them how I wanted us to sound
