Thank you so much for this interview! I really enjoyed listening to Patrick talking about sustainability, it's kinda made me to rethink some of my own life choices, to be honest. And it was amazing to learn more about TGBSB 💛

Really enjoyed this, both from the point of view of knowing more about how the show is made, and also understanding the whole consumerism problems facing society at the moment. I was also one of the people making masks, scrubs, gowns etc, which gave a great community feeling and also introduced me to hand quilting (EPP) which is something I enjoy doing while watching TV and has reduced the amount of scrap fabric I throw away!
@angelinemurphydesign26353 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting - this is great to hear. Always great to use up the scraps we have. Sewing Bee is perfect sewing TV to watch.

How exciting would it be to sew up some of the tests!! I think picking the fabric would be overwhelming, and people just get so excited by being able to have any fabric they want and not worry about the price tag lol Loving watching this Angeline, you are so good at interviewing and really relaxed into a proper conversation ❤ I love to see how passionate Patrick gets about waste and sustainable fashion options. His success with Community Clothing might not be making big profits but it seems to be making big impacts 🎉

Great interview, so much sense but it's going to be so hard to change people's behaviour... One at a time makes all the difference. I'm using old clothes to make bags and clothing, very rarely buy anything other than fabric nowadays. It's a start...
@angelinemurphydesign26353 ай бұрын
It really does. Old clothes is perfect to make things.

Great interview but just a tip Angeline, Always pin your microphone on to the side that you will be turning to. In this case you should have had your mic on the left.

Well that was a brilliant interview and love he was ‘distinguished’ 😉 he is such a lovely man to listen to. Very interesting chat and I must say it resonates with me being from a farming background just like you where we made do and everything was mended or fixed by people that knew what to do. Unfortunately for many things that’s not possible as you need a computer to plug your car into now and washing machines etc not able to be easily repaired. Clothing industry is a whole different thing and I am all about the quality and clothes that last. Temu is not for me! We need many people to hear this Angeline! Probably Mr Grant not coming to NI to chat? I would certainly love to hear him. Well done and another string to your bow in your interviewing skills ❤

So heartening to hear someone say 'value what you have got'. The constant push for consumerism is frankly just draining and from my point of view, boring. I have always made things and it has brought so much enjoyment to my life, nothing really compares.
@angelinemurphydesign26353 ай бұрын
Thats ultimately what it should be all about - Value. People have too much stuff and not enough valued things these days.

Hi Angeline, great interview. Interesting 🤩and thank you for being so helpful so even I could figure out how to find it 😍 I have read about all the talks that Patrick has done, but coming from Denmark I have never been able to see or hear any of them. (Only a few to be honest)
