Watching all of these videos just reinforces that all four Moodies were decent, humble, great guys.

I never was a big fan of Moraz’s keyboard playing. He's no Mike Pinder (RIP Mike 😢) or Rick Wakeman.

the fact that Moraz is Swiss and mainly speaks French makes him automatically guilty.

once I heard that he has a French accent, I realized that explains everything.

Musicians just want to play music. The music industry is brutal. Lawsuits all over the place. Rip offs too by managers etc. Look what happened to Badfinger - terrible sad story

Moraz's lawyer is an arse. John Lodge kept his cool. He had to repeat so many answers.
@margotconway8605Ай бұрын
I really like Graeme he kept this interesting. He has a sense of humor had the judge laughing a few times. I wouldn't want to ever get on the wrong side of Graeme though he doesn't take nonsense

Moraz's lawyer was a putz and really crude and crass. He didn't have his info right either and Justin corrected him several times. Justin never lost his composure class act. Moraz's lawyer didn't even know had to pose questions correctly. The MB manager had to expain some of the stupidist answers. Perhaps Moraz lawyer wasn't the best.

Yea Hayward was cool. He seems surprised that this whole thing was happening. Patrick you should have stayed with Yes.

Mr. Hayward was unflinching. Never let them see you sweat. Mr. Moraz should have taken the $400,000 offer.
@davidkyle20733 ай бұрын
By 1977, Lodge, Hayward and co. were focused on $$$. Recordings were all about who gets publishing rights etc. Same issue with Mick Jones and Lou Gramm in Foreigner.

Around 11:15, I was sad to learn Justin Hayward doesn't know who Jack Webb was. But then Dragnet doesn't really seem like it would be part of The Moody Blues' world.

Patrick moraz’s style didn’t fit with the moody blues. I don’t know why they hired him. They should have found someone else who played the mellotron. That’s was their unique and mysterious sound. I really don’t like Patrick at all now I know he sued the moody blues. Mike pinder was a big loss.
@stuBdoc3 ай бұрын
I agree, the Mellotron defined the Moody Blues' sound as much as Justin Hayward's voice and writing. But it became outdated with the rise of the synthesizer.

Someone commented how much he differed from Mike Pinder. I agree. Listen to the Yes album Relayer. That's Moraz. But he said as a kid learning keyboards that his dream was to play in the Moody Blues. Refugee was a decent album. But he was a monster soloist like Wakeman whom he replaced.
@peterclaine41574 ай бұрын
Moraz was brutal, never fitted in, as for greed he was replaced by 2 keyboards, enough said.

This trial was initiated by greedy lawyers looking for a big payout. Patrick was not a singer-songwriter, and his playing was just OK. I resent Patrick for going through with this. He smeared his own name as a contract paid accessory. Patrick was loved as a friend and player with his own style, but not as a true partner in the franchise that is the Moody Blues. Mike Pinder will always be the permanent 4th member & keyboard player of the Moody Blues franchise. As part of the millions of fans, I get to define the franchise and Moraz was NEVER a MOODY TO ME!

I think Patrick Moraz just wanted the fame he expected to get with the Moody Blues. I wondered what in the world he was doing there! 🤔
@jeffmotsinger82035 ай бұрын
I thought at the time that hiring Moraz was a mistake. Yes, he was clever and a virtuoso player but couldn't have been more different from Mike Pinder whom he was replacing. He was flashy but shallow and I never liked his style at all. Did the Moody Blues screw Moraz? Probably, and it is difficult to hear them parse questions on the stand.
