Alla fine i responsabili della tragedia non pagheranno come sempre? Finirà tutto in niente vero?

Love the ungroomed terrain. We need more of that. We got a surprise snowstorm one day this past winter. It came pre-dawn, apparently leaving no time to groom the trails. The skiing was fantastic!

Sauze D'Oulx in Italy used to have a lift that had single chairs AND T-bars on the same cable. The T-bar ride was terrifying but the line was short so you had a choice.
@vadimmakarov68115 ай бұрын
Are you sure you are using this lift correctly? Aren't you supposed to hold the disk with your stretched hands and be dragged along the track all the way like THOSE NICE SKIERS who left these tracks on the snow below you? Seriously, this beats antiquated lifts in Kukisvumchorr, Cheget, and Dombai. Old chairlifts at Karakol in Kyrgyzstan look like civilization after this. Thanks for sharing.
@inmontanis5 ай бұрын
If there would be meters of snow, it could work on the lower part of the lift, but not on the final part where you cross the street, where I filmed the boy sitting on the disc. Maybe when the lift was built many years ago there was much more snow and now road in winter? We don't know, weren't much people there. By the way, the disc is a thick part of wood and a bit bigger than a usual Leitner or Poma one, so its not uncomfortable to sit on it - unless the whole thing spins, which you can't control. We guessed the tracks were from downhill skiing or they had additional ropes

do dry slopes feel like actual snow?
@inmontanis6 ай бұрын
Depends on the manufacture / type and (for some) how wet they are and how steep the slope is. Sometimes it's as nice as spring corn snow, sometimes its sticky or like icy artificial slopes.

Beim Kopieren des POMA-Liftes haben sie die Feder vergessen, mit der die Höhendifferenz zwischen Gelände und Seil ausgeglichen wird. Tut es auf Dauer nicht weh, wenn man nur auf dem Teller sitzt?
@inmontanis7 ай бұрын

Not any more, thanks to corporate greed. Big manufacturers shutting down all the small ones by taking them over and dissolving them, and making ski lift operation extremely complicated by lobbying authorities into declaring that old lifts aren't safe just because their mechanical design is not as standardized or advanced as the modern ones and don't have as much safety technology as the modern lifts. When the old lifts themselves never have accidents, because if they did, they wouldn't last long at all and something would need to be done about it ASAP. The modern lifts are all the same because there are only 4 corporate global tyrants for manufacturers left, and they have made it that way so nobody CAN make different lifts. One company tried after the standardization was imposed and got shut down(taken over and dissolved) for it.

@inmontanis9 ай бұрын
I suppose so, at least it should be old enough and doesn't look like a used one from the alps.
@volvodude1019 ай бұрын
I want to know how this was made. It looks homemade and also old. Did a bunch of Kyrgyz chads cobble together enough leftover parts and an electric motor and build it over a summer? I just can't stop watching it, it's great. I wonder if the OP talked to the people who run it. 11/10 would ride the chairlift-tbar hybrid.
@inmontanis9 ай бұрын
No sorry, but we guessed it was originally same as the "flying platter" lift a few meters away and they replaced the fixed "j-bars" with chairs.
@OskarEhmsen9 ай бұрын
Is this near vemdalen?
@inmontanis9 ай бұрын
Not directly, but not too far away, it's in Ljungdalen near the end of the valley, but not connected to the other ski resort there with the chair lift. The small ski resort near Vemdalen, next to Skistar Vemdalsskalet, is called Vargen.
@OskarEhmsen9 ай бұрын
Have you been to vargen, and all the resorts around it?
@inmontanis9 ай бұрын
@@OskarEhmsen around nearly all, indeed (see the index or statistic on my blog, I visited 73 ski resorts in Sweden, that's 1/10 of all resorts I visited until now), but not Vargen, because it was completely closed 2 years ago when I had the Skistar Season Card and was a few times in Vemdalen. They want to reopen this year, but I suppose I won't be in this area then.

I didn't see a comment section below your last post mentioning alpinforum so I comment here. Disappointing to hear that you are not returning to the forums. You described your reasons quite clearly. Just keep in mind that for every member who has been disrespectful, there may be 10 who appreciate your participation across 3 decades. Sometimes this is literally stated in the forum. This message is unlikely to change your mind but it is also a way of saying thank you for your post about skiing.
