avoidance is me
@OddOwl1Ай бұрын
Hey. *Avoidance* is what many people relate to and while it can feel protective in the short term, chronic avoidance often leads to increased anxiety and missed opportunities. If you find avoidance impacting your life negatively, consider exploring why you avoid and what you're protecting yourself from. Small steps to face fears gradually can build confidence. Please remember, these mechanisms developed to help us cope, so be kind to yourself as you work on healthier patterns. All the best and if you feel like talking further, I'd be glad to help.

One should not necessarily be ashamed of themselves for this. However shame is a useful emotion as long as you first Consider if the shame is reasonable. If it is reasonable then try to find ways to make sure you don't do it again. If you can do this then the shame no longer is useful to you so learn to let it go. These are all coping mechanisms, from things like abuse or neglect in childhood. These are survival mechanisms for ourselves. Identify these "flaws" and learn to adjust.
@OddOwl1Ай бұрын
It's refreshing to see an approach that acknowledges shame's potential utility while also recognizing its limitations. So this self-reflection can be a powerful tool for personal development, allowing us to identify areas for improvement without falling into unproductive self-criticism. I, therefore, find your advice practical and empowering, that is, to find ways to prevent recurrence of shameful actions. This should shift the focus from dwelling on past mistakes to taking constructive steps forward. This approach can help break negative cycles and foster positive change. So you're right this can be another coping mechanism. Thank you for your valuable comment.

@OddOwl12 ай бұрын
Woah. Fascinating that you've read the Picatrix! The idea of it being a *cursed* book is due to its association with medieval magic and astrology. For some, its a manual for ancient secrets, evil secrets more or less, others say it’s a cookbook for the cosmos. Of course, anything dealing with esoteric knowledge has had its share of superstition attached to it, which might explain why it’s developed that reputation. Did you find anything in it that particularly stood out to you? I am aware it's very challenging to read.

Necronomicon is fake to start your video with lies you are pathetic. False information is more dangerous then a book
@OddOwl12 ай бұрын
I apologize for the late reply, somehow missed it
@OddOwl12 ай бұрын
I understand your frustration, but let's take a closer look at the Necronomicon's history. While it's true that HP lovecraft invented the concept for his fiction, the idea has taken on a life of its own. The name Al Azif is indeed his creation, and all other accounts associated with this book come from Legends. So either this book was written in the past and completely lost, and only references remain or it's just legend fiction. However various versions of the Necronomicon have been published since Lovecraft's time, like the Simon version but these are modern creations not ancient ones. Also not to forget that this book has had a significant impact on pop culture and modern occultism.

What about the ultimate cursed books, the monotheistic religious texts? Disaster follows everywhere they turn up and its fictional tales have ruined the lives of countless millions. For more information search Sam Harris, Christopher, or Richard Dawkins to name a few. They make great arguments.
@OddOwl12 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your perspective. I appreciate you taking the time to engage with the video's content. While religious texts have certainly been a source of controversy throughout history, their impact is complex and multifaceted. Many scholars argue these texts have also inspired art, philosophy, and ethical frameworks that have shaped societies in positive ways. I'd encourage exploring a range of academic sources to gain a balanced understanding of religious texts' historical and cultural significance. While the authors you mentioned offer thought-provoking critiques, it's also valuable to consider perspectives from religious studies scholars, historians, and anthropologists who study these texts in their full context.
@chadcwk2 ай бұрын
@@OddOwl1 While I think religious texts are nothing more than fairy tales promoting the belief of an imaginary being that has zero proof of existence outside of writings by superstitious people from thousands of years ago in a remote part of the Middle East, this is a great video 👍 You put a lot of hard work into it. Made for excellent educational content with loads of details but concise enough to hold the attention of your audience. Looking forward to more. Even in the Abrahamic religions. You’re very correct, their impact worldwide is almost unmeasurable.

@@MeriemKaci-q8z I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a friend is always painful, and it's natural to search for explanations, especially when things don't make sense. The reality is, many cultures and belief systems do include concepts of black magic or curses. These beliefs can be deeply ingrained and meaningful to people. While science often can't confirm these practices, their psychological and cultural impacts are very real. In some cases, the fear or stress caused by believing in a curse can affect a person's health. There are also instances where traditional practices labeled as "magic" might involve harmful substances or actions that could cause real harm. Again I'm sorry for your loss.

@@wallflowerdan While I appreciate your perspective, I believe it's important to note that creators often utilize AI as a tool to enhance their final product, rather than relying on it entirely. The majority of content remains human-generated, with AI serving as a complementary resource. In our case, we conducted extensive research, delving into online libraries, book vaults, and numerous other repositories to unearth images of each book featured. As you'll observe, many of these images are not readily available through a simple Google search. Our team invested considerable time exploring resources such as the Internet Archive, public domain collections, and university databases. For instance, the manuscript of the "Shams al-Ma'arif," was sourced from Yale University's online library & some other sources too.

Myself included, I'm sure a lot of other people would love to be able to contribute to your goal of spreading information!
