Hello, I purchased a new D’Angelico excel 59 (your exact model), but the bridge came cracked so I returned it. I’m debating whether I should try again and reorder. Would you recommend getting this guitar?
@scictt21 күн бұрын
Did you get a chance to play it? Other than the crack did you like it? I would absolutely recommend this guitar.

Beautiful, smooth, and effortless. My dad used to sing this song 30 years ago or so. May I ask what gauge strings you use on this guitar?

@LindaHebert-t7jАй бұрын
@@scictt Hahaha, nope! They just make me want to buy more telecasters! It's funny. I used to think they were the ugliest guitars on the planet. Then for some reason, I kept looking at them and looking at them, and they grew on me. After playing one, it was just all over!
@LindaHebert-t7jАй бұрын
Outstanding! That was great! I love Vince Guaraldi. I didn't think it could be done on guitar. I was wondering if you have a favorite guitar. Is there a certain one you reach for when you only have a few minutes to play?
@scicttАй бұрын
Thank you very much! I enjoy the challenge of coming with arrangements. I tend to grab the closest guitar, often my Telecaster, but if I could keep only one it would be my D'Angelico jazz box.

I liked the Thumb more than I expected but the Smith, which has always been one of my favorite basses, has a nice even tone and sits in the mix better to my ears.

Would you say these pickups are “warm” ? I am into vintage tones but no Spector seems to sound “warm” for pizicato, thanks !!!!

The Warwick has an awesome focused growl in the lower register and stays warm sounding even in the mid registers. The Ken Smith - Wow! The growl on the low end is supper tight and very clean and musical in the mids and highs. Wish I could have both!

I also have both basses, and they are both killer, but the Ken Smith is my favorite. I'd say the Warwick has more of a rock bass sound and higher output, but the Ken Smith just feels perfect in my hands. I purchased mine new in 1999, and it's been my favorite bass ever since.
