No there are no o2 sensors past the down pipe so you won’t get a check engine light from anything behind it.

The bulb size is 194. You can find them on eBay and Amazon. I just got different colors and mixed and matched until I found what I liked.

I must've cleaned the IAC 3 or 4 times before I realized this there's two of those screws I've been adjusting the fine one 😂

you actually want to have 5 thou clearance on the throttle stop screw so the butterfly is completely closed. The idle is then set with the idle adjustment screw. Throttle position sensor position may need to be rechecked after this adjustment too.

Yes that would work but you would need some way to pull the button back up if you wanted to use it while parked.

This was the adjustment that is required when the factory seal is removed during cleaning. I haven’t had any issues for years.

Google everything on a Miata before you just start assuming that things are what they are it's an odd car and there's different things that are not the same on other cars

Now what you've done is bottomed out the throttle plate and it's going to wear into the throttle body and also wear out the butterfly

This is the adjustment that was needed to get the throttle plate to seal properly with the coating removed. The plate should be sealed with all air passing through the idle air control valve. What you are suggesting is exaggerated.

That is not the idle screw do not mess with that screw the idle screw is actually up above it inside that little round housing and you turn it in clockwise to lower the idle can you turn it counterclockwise to bring the idle up

This is actually the adjustment suggested if the factory coating is removed to get the throttle plate to seal again. So it is the solution for this specific issue.

Mine did the same thing at one point. It’s tough but i unbolted the ebrake and used a screw driver and pliers to pull it back out. It never did right after that though, the ebrake worked but the button behaved different. I finally just bought another ebrake for $30 on eBay.

Somebody must have put it up some time in its life. I just recently did mine and fixed it by disconnecting battery for a few mins, he adjusted himself.

I got it off eBay, haven’t been able to find the listing since but just be careful and make sure you get a threaded one, some places sell one that is hollow that is supposed to be glued over the factory button.

This is exactly what I needed!! My Miata was idling at 2500 rpm’s after a throttle body cleaning and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I read three forums and phoned two friends, non of which helped. This was one of the shortest video’s on the subject but exactly what I needed!! Great job man!

probe gt here, same engine as 626 mazda.. high idle also after cleaning throttlebody...ive done that set screw adjustment, my plate is as closed as it can go but rpms are too high, about 1500rpm.. my airscrew was 1.5 turns open from factory but now that high idle.. if i close that airscrew to about a 1/2 turn open, i can get idle down to normal.... not sure if mine had the gunk on the plate b4 cleaning, it was ages ago that i cleaned it..idle has been borked ever since....

I've wondered if my stock 1.6 with ISR catback shoots any flames. When i shift from 1st-2nd, and 2nd-3rd, if I do it right around 4100-4200 RPM it'll pop a little bit, and I'm wondering if maybe there's a pipsqueak flame at all 😅

Heated TB is Only a problem when/ If it Heats the air going through it. Phenolic spacer will do Dick in Real life as the Intake manifold is directly heated from the Cyl head and incoming air charge is in the heat of the manifold Much longer than the TB. Your cooling (reducing it's temp a bit) the throttle body gives a fairly marginal heat reduction to the intake air.

I have a phenolic spacer for the manifold now, it may not have been clear but I was referring to getting a phenolic spacer for the manifold not the throttle body. I was just testing the difference the before adding the phenolic spacer on the manifold.

Some people have used pvc pipe or intake tubing to route to the same area the randel routes to.

@@2zztercel558 You could totally use the same parts they use to hook up turbo's and intercoolers, if you can supply the colder air the computer pulls less ignition timing in hot weather.

So i got a new raceland header for my 92 Na miata and i bought myself an isr exhaust and the part that bolts up to the header pipe the isr cat is bigger , did you have the same problem with that? if so what did you do because i’m not sure what to do.

@@thecucaracha right on man I have to take my TB off my 92 to clean the IAC valve and I figured while I was at it I'd just do a coolant bypass I did it in my Trans am and it really lowered the throttle body temp I beleive the hose is like 5/16th but im not 100% sure cant find really any write ups online either

Yeah I haven’t seen much either. It makes a decent difference on the Miata. I’ve got a phenolic spacer to go between the intake manifold and the head to block heat transfer but haven’t got it on yet. I’m sure with that on and the bypass there will be a huge difference.

this is not for a 1.8 liter wtf... my 1.8 97 m edition does not look like that ..it looks almost the same except im missing that screw to adjust idle...

There may just be some variation in throttle bodies that they used or it could be because my 94 is an M edition with cruise control which may use a different throttle body design. Most cars will idle high in the cold until the car warms up. Mine was idling high all the time because I had unknowingly cleaned off the goop they used to create a good seal from factory.

It’s used for the same purpose that the long handbrake would be used for which is to unsettle the rear to start or maintain a drift. Most of the longer handbrakes you see are going to be hydraulic hand brakes and may have their own set of rear calipers they control put they have the same general purpose.

WOW! This is incredible! I cleaned my throttle so good it looks brand new and when I started the engine it was going crazy. High idling and I got a P0300 code, a code that I've never had before. Is yours consider electronic if not do you know if this will work on an electronic throttle body? I have an 07 Nissan Sentra. Please help! TIA

It just depends on whether it has a idle screw to adjust or not. I would be surprised if something that new had an idle adjust screw.

Idk about the later models but there were not an sensors in or behind the cat so there was not check engine light after the install.

Bro I found out my car shoots flames too haha, same setup just isr exhaust and intake. I down shifted and my friend saw me shoot 2 flames, the first one was the size of my hand and the second one was the size of my whole arm, it was wide ass hell too !

I don’t know the length but at around 1:21 in the video I hold up the box with the part number. I did have to grind of the arm on the banjo fitting to get the right angle on the line.
