Getting ready for a marathon later this year and also been performing some shows and teaching others my music. My name is Dylan too!! Hi I really enjoy Green Tea and I’ve been trying to cut out coffee.

A few years ago while in Hong Kong on a layover we stumbled upon a tea museum. It was magnificent. They had ancient pottery and displays of tea . They even had samples of different teas. This unexpected delight deepened my love of tea.

Whether as a note, addendum, or it's own separate video; I think it would be helpful to address plants that can be planted nearby camellia sinensis with positive benefits. Plants that enjoy the ~4.5 pH soil (or specifically attempt to counterbalance it to maintain soil health long-term), nitrogen-fixing plants that help reduce need for fertilizers, pest-control or decoy plants that repel, discourage, or Take The Hit to protect tea plants, preferred tree species that provide the optimal level of shade to mimic valley conditions mentioned in Ch.2, or even things like flowers that Just Taste Good With Tea. Going above and beyond the tea plant to describe it's ideal permaculture plot would be really nice, many people are already familiar with the concept of the Three Sisters (planting Corn, Bean, and Squash together) and I'm wondering what tea's sisters would be? Could you account for 100% of the soils pH and nitrogen problems at the cost of tea density? Does tea pollinate via wind-blown-pollen or does it need bees? Does honey made from tea nectar have a nice taste? Could you grow it in your backyard, perhaps in a big pot or wooden box and make your own home-made white tea? So many fun little questions about the agriculture here. Thanks for the 'diploma'! It was a joy to watch your series, and your passion really came through.

This is very helpful thank you! I just recently got into tea, switched over from coffee since I don't want to drink sugary drinks and I can't drink coffee straight. I noticed that if I drink over four cups of tea (8oz each) a day i will start getting stomach pains, on the left side of my stomach. Its weird, but I imagine it has to do with some of the tannins and maybe catechins affecting my stomach. After reading this, it seems like the best way to avoid these compounds is use less leaf, lower water temp and maybe try to stick to oolongs and puers? What would you recommend?

Hey. Love the videos. I have a question. What is your opinion on cold brewing. To explain, im a bartender and use teas in many, many different cocktails. Alcoholic and none alcoholic. If you were to cold brew it and then warm up the water afterwards, would you get a better flavour? I've always been taught not to "cook" most ingredients and to be fair, its cocktails. Not too many are served hot. I'm just bringing it up for discussion. Would love to know your thoughts.

Wow! What a great video! Awesome explanation of the whole process. It makes me wonder how people back in the days figured out how to process the leaves to produce the right aroma. They didn't have all the knowledge we have now. Was it trial and error?

Does this apply to all brands of tea? Do the studies apply to a single population drinking tea hand picked from a tiny region? Will Lipton green tea suffice? Will tea processed in large quantities be beneficial?

just a heads up for some people. i thought kombucha was the greatest thing. but i developed "fungal" infections in my gall bladder and chronic bladder infections. the kombucha brewing was not the issue. i had to stop drinking it. some people just have a SENSITIVITY to it. do be aware of your body. i do still use it on my plants, though ;)
