Why does everyone talk about green tea and nobody talks about black tea or oolong or white tea? They are all made from the exact same plant, just harvested differently and processed differently.

I think this is just the same lies that have tricked people into drinking coffee. Now we are being tricked into drinking other forms of caffeine, same poison. Caffeine in even small doses affect your sleep quality. Bad sleep creates illness of the brain, like ahlzeimers. Bogus video.

enjoyed this video too much that I didn't realise it almost 40min long?? I'm a tea enthusiast and really thrilled to learn this! I would try almost every single tea at the supermarket (I know not the best quality) but hey it's a hobby of mine 🤣 I try to understand each type of teas and now I get it. very interesting indeed. green tea is my fave and yes I could differentiate the taste between Japanese and Chinese. the taste is significant. no wonder Japanese taste grassy and Chinese taste toasty?? now it make sense 😂 I love them both, there are times you want some variation. I appreciate every single tea

It's the passion for his field that comes out in his narration that did it for me (that and his elaborate hand gestures). Not the video I was looking for, but 36 minutes later I'm glad it's the one I found. Definitely going to look more into teas moving forward.

Kill blue is a more accurate than kill green. You want to reduce the water content inside the leaves, it means you kill the blue (water).

Theanine, which can cross the blood-brain barrier, is associated with inhibiting the stimulant effects of caffeine. In addition, there are indications that it may protect the brain, reduce stress, and improve sleep quality. L- theanine (γ-glutamylethylamide), an amino acid in green tea, has been shown to affect brain functions by relieving stress disorders, improving mood, and maintaining normal sleep. Research shows that L-theanine supplements can elevate your levels of GABA, dopamine and serotonin, which promotes relaxation and reduces anxiety levels. A randomized trial from 2019 found that healthy adults who took L-theanine over the course of four weeks had a decrease in stress-related symptoms. Does green tea improve brain function? Considering that green tea is abundant in flavan-3-ols - comprising multiple catechins among other flavonoids - and flavonols , both of which have been linked to enhanced brain health, it is not only reasonable but also advisable to include green tea in one's diet. Flavan-3-ols have been reported to exhibit several health beneficial effects by acting as antioxidant, anticarcinogen, cardiopreventive, antimicrobial, anti-viral, and neuro-protective agents. This review summarizes the distribution and health effects of these compounds.

When it comes to Gai Wans, I always people to *practice with room temperature water* first to get a feel for it. Even if it's a new Gai Wan to you do it because there's different thicknesses and slightly variations and you just need to find the right way to hold it for you. No fun getting burned but it is fun to water little plants with a Gai Wan. TeaHee. lol

I must say the masterclass has been wonderful so far, but this chapter was a little underwhelming. You probably want to cover all bases on a basic level, but I would have loved more details. For example the mineral profile of the water used, using a uncoated tetsubin vs a electric kettle, letting water cool vs bringing it to the exact temperature, using a paper filter vs a tumbler vs a tea strainer, drinking many infusions with a high tea water ratio in small cups, washing tea in cold water before infusing it, different cold infusions. Also I have made the experience that some green teas (in my case a shinsha) are incredibly intense with only 60C° and infusion time of only 60s. I accidentally forgot about it for only a moment and at only 80s infusion time it was already too intense. That said I loved the series so far!

I weaned myself off of caffeine and I feel great. Children don't need caffeine in the morning for energy. Adults took up this habit by copying other adults. I have more energy now that I'm off caffeine.
