Came on before or after the incredible hulk on cbs in the late 70s and early 80s. Would've been cool if they did a crossover special where david banner appears in hazzard county.

I grew up in the Midwest but have lived in Orlando very near all of the theme parks since mid-1998. Growing up, I took 5 vacations to Orlando from 1987 to 1997. The longest stretch I had to wait though was from 1989 until 1994. I was very into movies, and knowing that Universal had opened less than a year after my trip in 1989, that wait of nearly 5 years was excruciating for a kid of just 10-15 years old. Half to a third of my life! When I was finally down again in 1994, although we did go to the Disney parks too, the very first place I wanted to go was Universal Studios Florida. Oh wow was I amped up for that. And I didn't fail to blow me away at the time. I was also really into the Hard Rock Cafe in the 80's and 90's too though. This original Hard Rock was maybe the coolest one in the world to me at the time, shaped like a guitar with its neck going over a few roads. Back then you could drive your car right up to it to park or let people out, just like you could the front gate of Universal. Everything back then was still so new. All the original rides were there, a few more had been added, the landscaping still looked great, and there was still so much of that area that wasn't so developed like it is now. With both Universal and Disney, especially now having lived right by them and had annual passes for so long as a resident, I really miss the earlier days. Everything feels so confined and cramped today, or repurposed from its original vision. But even when I first moved here in 1998, that was just as Universal was finishing CityWalk and Islands of Adventure. By that fall/early winter of 1998, I was able to upgrade my pass to include the brand new IOA and go there during soft opening months before the official opening in January 1999. I cannot tell you how cool and exciting that was. Not just the new park, but all of the other brand new things at CityWalk as well. Back then before social media, or when the internet wasn't this massive thing we have on every device, it took a little longer for word to spread about these new places. My friend and I used to walk right on to any ride there like we owned the place. I can remember one time we rode the Dueling Dragons coaster 21 times in a row, because no one else was there. We'd get on, ride, get off, and get right back on over and over. It was a blast! There was also no security line or checkpoint back then either to wait through. I could go on and on (as I sort of already have) about all of this, but man do I miss those days. I still have a handful of things like guide maps and otherwise from my first Universal visit though in 1994, and will never forget it.

That is an awesome bumper. I sometimes watched the show during the original air, but I long since forgot about those. I always liked the bumpers during those good old shows like Knight Rider, Airwolf etc. Funny how Bo looks in the mirror about as much as he looked ahead hahaha

NBC started using this theme for New Year’s Day 1990. I wonder if John Tesh composed this. Before the 1989 NFL season, most of NBC Sports themes were composed by Clark Gault. I think the theme used before this which debuted New Year’s 1986 was better but it was really a college band version of the 1983 NFL Theme that NBC used for games from Super Bowl XVII until the 1985 season and also used for the NFL pregame show from 1983 until Super Bowl XXIII in January 1989.

Nbc used this for notre dame games sometimes before they would go to commercial. But the more familiar John Colby theme from 1993-2005 was used for the opening graphic and sponsor bumps.
