miss teaching songwriting workshops at the greatest school of rock n rolls stunning minds n creative whirlwinds in the world , GRP ! teaching at another states Girls Rock camp made me the person always bugging our director about " come-on let's fundraise our girls of this city NEED to be HERE! scholarships are the way ! " may the mother of all rock n roll vibes bless the radically awesome sauce students of GRP and all Girls (who totaaally) Rock everywhere...music desperately needs the future rockers who identify as female, more now than maybe ever!!?? I teach also now DJing workshops ! every single girl gets to use the turntables plus I hand out free downloads of dj software ! the rule of dj class #1 - BREAK the Rules ( DJing is about innovation ) #2 Teach Them to Respect YOU ( boys may be the majority but if they like you, faced all girl djs when they showed up to the club or party to rock ...most of the boys would literally run away...or like I have seen at Champion Sound club when I was to perform...the boys scared of competition hid for hours in the men's bathroom ! believe me...#2 the teach them to RESPECT YOU! rule applies everywhere in music ...#3 rule of my dj workshop is also in all my GRP and Girls rock workshops and private lessons for Girls who Rock with special needs , it's the " USE IT motto #useitGRP use any pain,sorrow Joy, radiance, haterade, dissed for being different, loneliness, depression,uh... rockstarified fantasticness rebel syndrome for those ahead of they're time , etc... use any pain joy haterade or any feeling or experience that u have inside your heart mind or spirit ...USE IT IN YOUR MUSIC IN YOUR PERFORMANCES IN YOUR LYRICS IN UR CHORDS ! IN YOUR POETRY JOURNALS STORIES SONGS N DJ MIXES , USE IT ALL ...THEN TURN IT INTO YOUR ROCK SUPERPOWER . PAIN BECOMES POWER TRANSFORMED ... GIRLS ROCK PHILLY FOREVER ! LOVE Ya grp...u teach us old teachers more than we teach YOU. can't wait to see more of u rocking venues when I'm home in Philly. some of our campers are now like ...23 and 25 yrs old ?? omgosh !! wow. love - songwriting teacher from phillys 2009-2010 (plus vocal rehab thru private GRP lessons for special needs students , in 2011, she walked from being almost compl paralyzed for five years she got her voice back after a traechotomy , from one word HA...to " YOUR LOVE keeps lifting me higher " in 8 weeks, three hours a week only! ) thanks to GRP leadership for helping me by that opportunity and more...love y'all teachers,philly,west coast,and Girls Rock org. everywhere. thank u for the opportunities . :)
