I am a bit surprised to observe that there is no pause at all - the points kundali shayana and brahmanda nayaka are wonderful spots to pause and enhance the emotive appeal of the krithi 😢 similarly the line dharini cheybatti brovumu definitely needs a pause - it is a poignant appeal by Sri Thyagaraja Swami - he pleads with Sri Rama to show him the way and protect- such nuances are all missed out , sad to say.... Percussionists need to focus not just on talam but the deeper significance of the krithi, the bhakthi bhaavam - else it would all be a mindless cacophony to say the least...adiyen Sri Thyagaraja Swami dasan ...

Pathetic rendition, sorry to say.... A keen ear can easily discern 2-3 glaring slips in anupallavi & charanam last two lines. Another sad aspect is , with due respects both the percussionists have only played for talam: they seem to absolutely oblivious to the poignant tone and tenor of the song. This is what happens when the meaning of the krithi is ignored: the first couple of lines of charanam are very sensitive-painful in fact as Sri Thyagaraja Swami points out the hypocrisy of the false 'bhagavathas' - instead of soft and dexterous strokes which could enhance the rasaanubhava, the talam is just pounced upon by mridangam and upa pakka vadhyam.... It's time that we learnt the meaning and purport of the krithis so as to render them properly. Age, does not necessarily bring wisdom....😢
